only potential prob. I see is that the Fed rules on lighting/reflectors state very clearly the a motor veh. shall have amber side reflectors to the front and red side reflectors to the rear.
ford taurus, focus, even this have no rear amber reflecors

guess its because the brake lights are so big??

This is straight from the good book of laws...
Rear clearance lamps, identification lamps and those marker lamps and reflectors mounted on the rear or on the sides near the rear of a vehicle shall display OR reflect a red color.

THe bulbs on my front side markers are hyper white. I have never been pulled over or had any problems with it. I just think that amber is the most hideous color EVER and it is EVERYWHERE on my car!! Ahhh!!! Must get away!!!

knock on wood Stephanie, just be careful out there. Like i stated before, the color of the side markers can be white, as long as they flash yellow in the front and red in the rear. How do i know this? Im CHP applicant in training.
Kind of the same thing as having blue lights anywhere on the outside of your car. They look cool and you can go a long time without getting pulled over for them. But if a cop is looking for a reason to pull you over, you just gave him a good one.
This will get the amber out of your headlights.

Then use silverstars that are clear until you light them up. I really like the look of it.

Really, so I have to have this setup? (bare with me....try to understand)
[white headlight][amber] fender (amber) door door quarter panel (red) [red tail light]
Do you understand? Or do I have to do it on paint?

well start with the front. Headlights need to be white. Most cops will let light blue go, but if they are nothing near white, good luck. (Yellow headlights are not legal either) headlight housings have a yellow reflector, if you cleared this out but the unit still flashes amber your fine. The side markers are clear but flash amber, your fine. The rear side markers are red which flash red. You can change out the red marker with a clear marker as long as the unit flashes red. Tailights can be clear as long as it flashes red. Rear turn signals have to be red or amber, white is not legal. Hope this clarifies things
Anyone else can step in and correct me if I'm wrong but here goes:
Front of Vehicle
Reflective requirement: None (all lenses can be clear - even turn signals)
Illumination: white (with some variations of white) headlights and amber turns
Side of Vehicle (front)
Reflective Requirement: None (you can have clear lense)
Illumination: light must emit amber
Side of vehicle (rear)
Refelctive requirement: None (you can have clear lense)
Illumination: light must emit red
Rear of vehicle
Reflective Requirement: Must have red reflective somewhere (in case you leave vehicle dead on side of road)
Illumination: must have red emitting light on taillights & brakes. Can have red or amber emitting turns.
