xa dual exhaust
im just gonna put this out there. has anyone tried and failed or tried and succeeded in installing dual exhausts on the xA. im really jonesing to put a dual exhaust on my car exiting in front of the rear wheels with a flowmaster 40 or a doug-brand equivalent. any thoughts
um it would be insanely loud , sound like crap and youd have a hard time putting anything other than a glasspack in the front area. not enough room under the car. and those exits will hand low to clear the frame rails. well not rails but you know what I mean.
so then, what would you suggest? and also is there any way to quiet down glasspacks or do i have to settle for a catback system? AAAAARGH!!!!! THE PAIN OF IT ALL! I wonder if there are other alternatives.
so, set up how? from the cat put a glasspack then put a splitter and then the two pipes(short length there-of) a glasspack per side then a resonator on each side then the length of pipe to exit in front of each wheel? is there enough room for all that?
and how much are resonators usually?
If it where me i would go to a couple of your local muffler shops and tell them what you want to do and have them take a look at your car, and make sure to tell them what you want it to sound like, if one place says they cant do it go to another theres going to be someone to do it. Keep me updated would like to know what it looks like when its done
Is there a way that you coud put an exaust that would sound deep like one of those truck maybe and old muscle car. It may sound stupid but i don't like the loud annoying rice burner exaust and just want something different.

I, personally, would stay aay from glasspacks. Some shops will use glasspacks as resonators. Glasspacks will cause too much resonation in the interior cabin. How do I know? I was in such a car that used a glasspack as a resonator and used a "race series" muffler. Waaaaaaaay too loud, and you could hear yourself think while on the freeway it droned sooooo much.
eh not really if just 1 glasspack it gets lame. with a regular resonator or a decent muffler aft of the glasspack. if you ran 2 inch and three glasspacks it should be decently loud if you run a regular resonator and then glasspacks as additional mufflers one per side bam.
there are dual exhaust set ups you just gotta have a good welder

maybe its off topic, but does it matter if you run the muffler right behind the resonator to TWO pipes for exit or if you run a two inch pipe back from the cat to the muffler. is there going to be any difference in power produced?
well the less pipe there is and the larger diameter the pipe the more tq you will lose. the resonator to muffler to pipes will probably be best for side exit duals ( if that's still what u want) but will be a bit loud , again you may need glasspacks per side to quiet it down a bit. without a resonator you will be going deaf no matter the muffler , if you want banging loud go glasspacks quieter and smoother than straight pipe but betetr flowing than stock resonator. straight pipe to muffler will be soo loud and hollow / raspy / poppy.
I've seen a dual output exhaust done on an xA where they used 2 outlets (one with an L pipe) from one muffler. A better method imo since dual exhausts for our 1.5l engine is purely asthetic.
