"I want to put larger tires and rims on my xB and lower it 2" in the front and 1 1/2" in the rear. Which size tires and rims can i get that wont rub at all"

Originally, I had planned on lowering my car 1" all around, on a set of 17" Motegi DP6's.

That's when I saw an xB with 20" rims!

Talk about falling in love... :P

Now that I've seen one with larger rims, I'm thinking of going for large rims myself.

I'm also looking to lower the car 1" in the back and 1 and 1/2" in the back... How do you guys think that would look? Would it add or take from the car having it lowered different measures in front and back?

Another question is which size tires should I get if I do this? I think 20's might be pushing it, since I drive so much (don't really want to have to worry all that much about them).

18" DP6 Motegi's is my thought on this...

I do need advice, though... I don't know much about cars.

I got the lowering idea from Drandolph, who had suggested 1 and 1/2" in the back and 2" in the front, but I feel like that might be a little too much.

Anybody have pics of their car lowered like this?

19" with a profile of 30 will work. 35 will rub a little, but the fenders can be rolled to stop this.

everyone is lowered 2 inches these days..

18 are fine. make sure you dont get anything higher than a +42 offset.

for 18s the suggested tire size is 215/35/18s i believe.

gootta luv the bigger rims I wouldn't go bigger than 18...that's just me.....dropped looks good.....2 inches looks great epecially with the bigger wheels.....just make sure you get some rims you like....some of the axis wheels are just silly

not sure what part of NJ your in, but around here the roads suck and you have to be carefull w/the really low profile tires
I wish now that I went w/16" wheels w/205/50 tires instead of the 205/40/17s I have, but I like what I got and will keep it :)

I'm in North Jersey, Bergen County. 10min away from the GWB.

You think it really would be bad to drive with 18"s?

I don't know much about cars, but I'm slowly learning.

I've test drove 17" and 18" on xB's and the ride was bumpy, but I don't understand the big deal... The only worry people have is scratchin the rims, right? or could it cause some other types of damage to the car itself?

I don't want to drop it the same all around... I was thinking 1" in the rear and 1and1/2" in the front.

Lower profile tires make it easier to bend rims too. Scratching or curbrashing rims in annoying. Bending or breaking them is a pita.
