Picked it up from Mike Johnson's Hickory Toyota here in NC last night and drove it to Charlotte after about an hour's worth crash-course Manual Tranny training! Hope occational over-revving won't hurt it.
Silver. So happy!

congrats on the new ride, hope you dont literally "break" the car in. hahaha. dont mind my sillyness. but yeh occasional overreving no big deal.

ive done it plenty times in my xB. im coming from a zero forgiving act clutch to a maximum forgiving xB clutch. also my bro's grinded the gear  once.

its all good. its only machinery

Thanks. I feel a little better now. :?
I'm not to bad at it for never really having driven one before. Now driving is so fun! Much better than 'point and drive' auto.

Congratulations! You must be loving life. :D I just picked up my Polar White xB (also manual) last night. It's awesome.

Have you noticed the dumbfounded stares that people give you, or rather, your car? I didn't quite understand the full effect of these stares from reading about other new xB owners until I got my first stares last night. I was parked at Target when all of a sudden this guy comes by and takes a picture of my car with some digi-pen device. Then, his girlfriend takes out her digital camera and takes a shot, too. I just smiled and waved as they pulled away in their minivan.

A stick, huh? Wait until you find yourself in a situation like parallel parking up a hill. You'll get the hang of it in time. I drove a stick for ten years and I still stalled it out occasionally.
People won't just ask questions. Be prepared, they will want to sit in your car, so keep it clean. Right now, you are one cubic rolling advertisement. Congrats on the new box. I'm so excited to see that everyone else in the states is starting to see them.

Congrats on your purchase!

I'm still waiting for the Scions dealerships to start popping up here in Hawaii
Nice choice with the stick too, I think I'll be going that route as well.

Congrats on your purchase, man!

Hopefully I'll get the chance to try manual out before I finalize my purchase. The only time I drove a manual car, I worked the clutch and my passenger worked the stick. We ended up stalling the car a good 5 or 6 times and then completed the ride home in first or second gear.
