What made u choose the xA?
Good gas mileage, small (I despise SUVs and trucks), decently peppy in 5spd form, can hold 5 people, can hold most stuff I try to put in it, I work at a dealership so I see them all the time, and that is about it.
I am buying a BCP xA for several reasons
- looks...best looking Scion being made IMO
- fuel economy
- seats 5 and can haul all I will probably need it to haul ( if I have something truly large my full size Chevy van can handle that chore)
- price is most definitely right...I dare you to name another car that has as much stuff that is standard equipment as the xA that is the same price or cheaper
- and last but not least...my current car is turning into a beater faster than I can fix it.
1) Looks. I dunno, reminds me of a mini cooper, which I also like. Just a really unique look, and still sleek (unlike xB)
2) Thought it would get good gas mileage, but really have been kind of disappointed with that. Being at 4500rpms for an hour and a half going to and from school really eats the gas up
3) I can fit as much in the xA as I could in my old Jeep, and it's 1/2 the size
4) It has little to no potential. I knew I wouldn't be tempted to modify it because spending $4000 to get 120hp doesn't work for me.

My choices were between the Mini, Civic Si, and the xA.
I went with the xA because it was more practical to own than the three and it was just so cool looking with it's fender flares and stubby nose :D
The xA has potential, it just needs a little more time for the R&D and right aftermarket parts to be available.

I was looking for a temporary car (I will probably be moving out of the country within a year). I came from slightly modified first gen Lexus LS400, and was paying $54 a tank for gas. . .
I figured good mileage would equate to freedom. . . the freedom to drive more, where I please, and as much as I want. The V8 in the Lexus was simply chugging too much gas, and limited the places where I could go in my budget. . . that and maintainence costs were adding up.
I saw a Polar White xA on the road and almost crashed. I couldn't stop staring at it. . . and then I was scared when I realized that I don't give $80k cars that much attention. I knew I had to have one.
I narrowed my choices down to a Mazda3 and the xA. I like Mini's, but usually don't like the drivers who buy them (in general). Plus, Mini's are marked up sooo much that they aren't worth the money. Then I saw the tC. . . and really wanted one too, but I NEED four doors, so I decided against it. At the time, I despised the xB. The Mazda really wasn't THAT fast, so I chose the xA due to better fuel mileage, better insurance rates, better depreciation, and a unique style all its own. The 3 is a great car, don't get me wrong, but the added price wasn't worth the increase in performance (still 8+ seconds to 60, according to magazine tests). The motortrend article sealed the deal. . . 8.8 seconds to 60 (not fast either) and 16.7 in the 1/4 mi (5spd) meant great acceleration for the dollar/total price. It's faster than auto Civics/Corolla's/Jetta which posts 0-60 times in the 9 second range (according to tests). Believe me, I know this car ain't fast, but it's good enough, considering it was dirt cheap. The xA also boasts similar interior dimensions (and actually larger in some areas) to the Corolla/Civic(look it up), although our trunk is tiny in comparison.
After owning the xA for awhile, and going to Team NVS meets, I really have grown to love the xB too. I wouldn't change my choice for the xA, but I really want an xB too, now. It's just so roomy, it's rediculous.
I love this car so much, that I want to take it with me now, when I move.

My market, 4 door coupes and hatchbacks.
Pontiac Vibe, Toyota Matirix, PT Cruser, Honda Accord (used)
I've already lived my childhood dream, driving my 2 seater 300ZX TT for over 100,000 miles. Now, priorities changing in life, and looked for the cheapest new (or very reliable used) car I could get but still had lots of storage. Cheap because I want to be payment free as soon as possible, so money can go someplace else.
The xA RS1 sold me because,
1. Sunroof
2. Stability Control
3. Traction Control
4. Great milage
5. Tons of storage room
6. Best looking of all the other cars in my market
7. 17" factory Enki wheels
8. It's red. ; )
9. Limited Edition
10. Room for kids when I get some in the future.

Oh, and to the guy who said he is too tall... I'm 6'2" and I have plenty of room in my RS 1.0 which has the sunroof. I'm guessing you're 6'5"++ :D

The xB stands out too much (for my wife) and we are seeing them everywhere. Always loved hatchbacks. Drove a Subaru Justy into the ground (3 cylinder) and this is like getting the luxury car version of a small hatchback. Mini was just way too expensive. Also, my Mom has a '04 Matrix and we like that, this looks like a shorter version.
