Default New xB RS2.0 and then CRASH!!!

Picked up my automatic xB RS 2.0 nbr 1254 on Friday, drove to Philly. Great car and fun time. Came home and about 2 mile from the house a large doberman pincher ran into the road hitting my car in the side and me hitting the dog. The dog did survive, had a broken leg but is ok.

The car took the hit to the bumper with no damage but it did leave a dent in the door, no paint loss, just a small dent. Called the insurance this morning to transfer the insurance from the old car to the new Scion and also to file a claim. Found out the car is coverd and going for a body shop extimate on 25Apr.

Question: One body shop near my house wanted to fill in the dent and then re-paint the door. Seems like to me the dent could just be pulled out. Any thoughts what I should do?

It is sad but I am so happy that the dog survived, after I hit him I just left the car in the road, really did not care about it when we were working with the dog. Its not that the dent is making me sick, but that will be fixed how who knows but the body shop will fix it

u have a pic of the dent? if no paint was damaged or its a simple dimple (that rymed :-D) it can be pulled out by dentless repair. youll save money and you wont have to make a claim

also welcome to the Forum! make sure to register your ride and post pics of the car!

for your dent to be properly "pulled", you'd have to get at least part of it repainted. the most common process for properly removing a dent includes a spot welder with little metal rods and a slidehammer. first, they grind the paint off the area. they spot weld a few little copper rods to the door panel, and attach a slidehammer and "pull" it. then, they use body filler on the area and repaint. I work in a body shop.

paintles repair doesnt do that. but to pull a dent yeah if it cant be pushed out. ive seen them do it on ferraris and maseratis and BMW's at my old job. they look awesome and the ouality is super awesome.

a pic would debate this. can you get one on here?

dude the paintless dent repair is the way to go I have seen them work miracles. I work at a auto accessory shop and dent genie rents a bay from us those guys are awesome and speak highly of dent wizard. Just be careful of the independent guy out there with no name trying to make a buck they can make it worse than it already is.....oh and the dent genie site is www.dentgenie.us check it out, they also have pics on the site on some of the repairs they have done. I have seen them take a car with no lie 1200 dents from hail and make it perfect.....

HELLO?!? McFly!! (wonder how many are going to miss the reference).

As for the dent, I'd check into PDR, especially since a guy in my club does it at the dealership.
