Default Keeping your TC real?

How many of you guys plan on keeping your TC stock? If you plan on customizing it with factory options, I still consider this stock. But if your installing TRD this, and K & H that, then it's obviously modified. Give me your reasons for your choices....

Also, if any mods are absolutely necessary, which ones would you all suggest, and why?

Mine will stay stock because one show car is enough We're getting a new car mainly to get my show car off the road, and keep the miles from racking up on the poor thing...

I would have a lot of fun modding a tC - but I figure they will be a dime a dozen soon enough that I won't regret keeping it stock and enjoying it as a daily driver... it's gonna be difficult though...
Edit: Also no real point in modifying an already good-looking car

If you mod it, its modded ... if you add anything that didnt come factory it is modded in my opinion.... and TRD makes the factory performance upgrades. I will definitely be modding the hell out of it. Thats why I bought it. A nice, clean looking, stable, affordable platform for adding a lot of performance upgrades later on.

Friends don't let friends drive stock. I come from the Mini-Truckin scene, so you know how much we usually customize. I got an xB and modified it, then I got a tC. I'm slowly getting into the Import Scene, but my blood still flows with bags, switches, and laying rocker panels. I need to get another truck to start a new project soon. I miss it, but the import scene is definitely a cool scene too, a little different, but still cool.

Ummm i have stock stuff that was on the car when i bought it, ie: rear lip spoiler, TRD exhaust, Lip kit.

The only thing i am going to add is a subwoofer and amp, then that's it.

Currently, there are only three "factory" options, meaning options installed at the factory: color, transmission, and side airbags. The rest of the options are "factory parts- dealer installed" options. This includes TRD this and TRD that (struts, springs, exhaust, short throw, etc etc), so you have to rework your definition for modded.

That being said....I modded mine.

Absolutely necessary:
1) short throw (anythign other than the TRD) the stock setup produces sloppy shifts. Installing a short throw that also employs a lower shift height cleans this up dramataically, and makes the car *much* more fun to drive.
2)Lowering springs/TRD struts: some people are going to debate this, but ride in a dropped tC vs stock, and you'll see/feel the difference.

one mod i think is absolutely needed is the factory body kit. Very subtle, very clean, very nice. and if you're getting a manual i think a short-shifter is a really fun mod. I love mine.

IM debating really modding my tC.

Visually, the only thing I would do to it would be to drop it. No spoilers or bumpers or pointless stuff like that.

Performace or anything else...I'm debating it. I wouldn't mind a LITTLE bit more power than the bone stock tC.

No mod is absolutely necessary but springs make it look a lot better than the stock height and a short shifter makes a world of difference in the throws.

I'm not in denial, my tC isn't a race car. Nor is it remotely fast, at all. It's just a simple nice driving car. I'm keeping it that way.

My only complaint about the stock tc is the body sway and the tires. I just got the sway taken care of.

The tC kicks a$$ compared to cars in its class, and is a perfect platform to build. I have been wanting to just buy a car that I can drive in the summer and make a project out of (partially because I love working on them, and partially because I like to see what can be done). So, that in mind:

No real visual mods on the outside... I like the clean look.

Performance springs (notice I said performance, not lowering)
A mid-range stereo system (my own custom fiberglass box, one 10, decent amp, nice head-unit and components)
Blue gauge lighting (leds are on order)
Supercharger/Turbo.. if I wait till I buy a house in a year or so, and have a decent garage, I will probably tear it down and use better internals and more boost
And some cool custom electronics (mainly because... hence the name.. I love designing them)

Then use it for a fun car and drive my other one to work every day. That should keep me happy toy-wise for a few years.... ok maybe 2 (minus the new CR-250 I want, R6 that I just HAVE to have, boat...heh heh.. you get the point! ) Damn... I am expensive for a guy!

Man, i cant believe all the stuff i read about people keeping it stock and stuff. I guess i didnt know how many people like it stock.

I dont know, i guess i am way to much into cars. I plan on going all the way to F/I and i am not going to stop there.

But its cool, and i know tc is not a race car, since there is no such thing as a Street legal race car, my car will be a fast car....!

Personally, I think it looks perfect with the ground effects. Nice looking car without, but i've seen stock tC's around and definately glad I got them. Not too big, just a good size..... although I think they should have made the rear one a tiny bit larger....

Keeping mine stock. Rule of thumb...More mods = less engine life and i plan on keeping mine for some time now. I might after some time put a cold/short air intake though.

Maybe i'm confused.....what do my ground effects have to do with engine life?

I'm leaning towards building the motor up N/A rather than going F/I.

I'll have the car for 5 years, save some unforseen accident or something, so a piece here, a piece there...
