View Full Version : Strut tower bar = weird ticking noise? Streeter 04-22-2005, 02:35 PM http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=718205 I figured it'd get more answers than "Dumb Question" 8) Emo 04-22-2005, 02:36 PM yeah, mine does the same but I keep forgettin to put some padding there... -Emo jrv2000 04-22-2005, 04:45 PM I use to have this problem too, here is how you fix it. Look at your strut bar closely. You will notice that there is a little connector attached to the intake that is touching the strut bar. When you turn on the car, the intake vibrates, which causes that little connector to bump against your strut bar, which makes that ticking noise. Just undo the screw that is holding the connector to the intake, and zip tie it somwhere else, and your problem will be solved. SEE "DUMB QUESTION" Streeter 09-23-2005, 03:38 AM I know this is an old thread - but the noise is (still) coming from lower in the engine bay (same as before) - you can hear it really well if you put your ear by the driver's side front wheel. I'm going to take off the strut bar tomorrow and see if it still makes the noise. In the meantime, any ideas what that might be? Whocares05050 09-23-2005, 05:26 AM which strut bar do you have?
