I just painted my front scion logo black and am thinking of painting the chrome trim ring black too. Anybody done this or have pics of it done?

Thanks

OK. Heres some pics. I took out the trim ring altogether and I think it looks great without it.

can you get a shot of the grill straight on, and a little bit closer up, I cant really tell if there is a gap or not, or how it looks like overall.

Done. New pic added. Its the best I can do until tomorrow when I can get some shots in sunlight.

from what I can see in the lst pic, it looks as though there is a gap where you took the ring out. IMO, I think it would look better if you color matched the ring too.

I personally like the silver ring on the front of the tC...but if you want the "blacked out" look, I say go for it. I'm sure it'll look sweet! :P

how do you take the Silver ring off the front grill?

There are clips that hold the grille on the car from inside the front bumper. Push on the grille from the front of the car and release the clips and the whole grille will come out. There are about 6 screws that hold the chrome ring in place along with some small clips. Remove the screws and release the clips and the ring comes right off.

Since its plastic, I dont think black chrome would work...although if I had my choice I would black chrome the trim and the scion badges.

Just a thought. Saying "I dont really like that very much" wouldnt make you sound like such an _______. Nobody else seems to have much of a problem with it. Not to mention offering a suggestion to how it might look better is a lot more useful to everybody.

If someone asks for my opinion on something, I will tell it like it is, not how it might be. If can't handle the truth, then don't be posting for opinions. And if you think I am going to say "I don't really like that very much", you must of mistaken me for your girlfriend. As for the emblem, I don't see why you would blacken it out so its so hard to see what it even says, even if you do chrome the edges. There are other mods that are far better and just as cheap.

That's great. You are such a cool person. :loser:
