Default aftermarket amp and subs,

anyone know the easiest way to hook up an amp to the deck that comes with the box? i just need to know how to run the RCAs and the remote wire to turn the amp on and off with the car.

They make a device that converts the speaker level output of the factory headunit, and converts it to a RCA, most shops like say Circuit City etc... will have them in stock and will be able to install it for you. I'm not sure what part of the country you are from so I'm not sure of a shop to recommend. If you feel comfortable doing it yourself, just make sure you do it right. Solder your connections, use heatshrink tubing. Don't ruin your brand new car with a sub-par install.

btw: theres a company called Peripheral Electronics. They make a reall nice converter, it will output 4v on the RCA to drive just about any amp out there with a good clean signal, they aren't cheap but they work very well and they are very reliable.

inline converter, bestbuy circuit city etc, it splices into the wires for one of your speakers, lets you plug in rca's to it. for the remote just find something that is live when ur car is turned on, such as cigg lighter, splice into that.

HI-Level Inputs would be a better way to go and would save you the money spent on a converter......buying an amp with high level inputs will give you a better sound.....the LLC's aren't made for any specific amp so they're not going to give you as good of results....

as for the remote wire, just find an ignition source in the fusebox...like the cig. lighter....or windows.....

not only money, but quality...

because with the line converters, you are taking an amplified signal, converting it to line level, then re-amplifing it and most likely introducing more noise.

The line converter method is "OK" for subs because the noise is mostly high end and lost with the cross over in your sub amp...

but if you are doing this for the mids and highs... its generally a no no in standards of good quality audio...

Get the converter, and connect the remote wire to the correct wire on the harness.

In my opinion, theres one way to do things when doing something such as this... and thats the right way. Itll be a lot easier to troubleshoot.
