Default a fine pair-RS2's....Ray's Scion Life (the oldest xB'r)

edit on thursday: font color and size improved for Ray's old eyes and mine, even moreso.

Is the Scion xB RS2 a young person's car? Yes!

I got mine because I like yellow and there is no safer color.
I've been in accidents before because the other driver "failed to see".
The solar yellow is not school bus yellow by any stretch.
Not gumball yellow. Not taxi cab yellow. It's a good choice for the RS2

I bought the RS2 three days ago.
Next day I showed it to my best elder friend.
I'd expected that he'd be confused and put off by this totally unconventional shape of the car. I thought that the color would offend him further.

No.

"WOW, that's so neat!"
Amazingly, he loves the color.
"Yellow is pretty damn bold!"

My friend decided after a test drive of my RS2 that he needed a new car.

He has not bought a new car for about 30 years; always goes for a used car.
His old car is an 86 Deville that leaks oil and because its a Caddy, you know is a rip-off, maintenance nightmare.

"How much it cost?"

Not much. Want a Scion?

"Wheee, HELL YES!"

Want a white one, maybe, used? That's a good, popular and visible color.

"Nah, I want a yellow one! I want one Just Like This"

So... next day (yesterday), 24 hours ago, we went to the dealership and the fellow bought himself an RS2.
We paid sticker and no dealer padding.
Plus I get a token 100 buck referral commission.

Widower for a year now, Ray turns 91 next month. Ready for action now.
We'll be tuning our cars, for sure. Have already started that process:
He's put his clip-on American flag on the right side rear window.

We'll be taking the insert out of the DC tunable muffler for a straight-through rumble. The old gentleman likes that.

Life is good for we who are young.
I know young people who are old.
This guy is bold.

ps: what's with the "a future scion owner" lable above the screen name?
whose dim default idea was that for new scion owners wandering into this place?

Looking good! I love it. Kudos to the older gentleman. I hope to still remember who I am at 91 let alone drive a car.

Finally!

FYI: If you want to change the "future scion owner" thing, you have to fill out your registry so it knows what kind of car you have.

I have not seen those threads yet. He's the oldest? Really?
That makes another new distinction for the Right Stuff man who was the first test pilot
to loft the very first production example of the famed Lockheed Constellation.

Amin Saleh is on the left, one of the two Scion team salesmen.
Age 32, two children. From Venezuela, of half-Lebanese ancestry.
The man in the middle is Ray's best friend, Loren S.
Loren came along for the ride.

Orlo Perez is 26 and has two children.
Both are nice guys. Kendall Toyota/Lexus/Scion

These are Monday pictures.
When I'd gone in on Saturday I met Amin who started the sale process and
introduced me to Orlo a short while later.

"Nice to meet you" I said.

"I remember you. You were here a year ago. I gave you a test drive of a Hot Lava xb"

Good memory to recall a prospect of some 30 minutes aquaintance, fully 12 months later.
Orlo has an ORganized mind for sure and so does the other fellow, Amin, -amen-
