Are there legality issues with smoked tails? I'm stupid and don't usually think of stuff like that... I've heard of people almost getting ticketed for having illegal tail mods on their *stock* xBs (the stock boring white lights, not the tyc's).... don't want a problem.

 

knowing the po po's in the OC who knows, if your car dosent say BMW MB or something exotic and your running mods you might as well have a good reason why you got what you got...

i know what you mean in my civic it depended on what city i was in ... like i work in orange and they said my tailights were ilegal but then my friend is a cop in garden grove he said they were ok... im gonna ask a few cops from diff citys about these.. see what happens....

 

They are illegal, just depnds how the cops are in your area. Your taillights must have a red reflector in it for it to be legal. It doesn't count even if you have red bulbs, there must be a reflector. There is a way around it but thats only if you put a red refector on the rear of your car. Like a bumper reflector, but that would be ghetto.. You should be okay. Unless you are fully riced out the cops probebly won't bug ya. Worst case senario, you get a fix it ticket and it costs ya 10 bucks.

 

I personally do not like them, but I have seen them smoked and they don't look to bad.

 

I cant stand those lights... And anyone know what the 4th bulb is for?

 

There are small reflectors that can be placed on the inside edge of your Scion Life plate frame that will make you legal. They are small but visable at night and that is what they are concerned about
