On particularly windy days, you can really stretch your mileage. Even without a tailwind, you could tack into the wind, but it may cause some confusion for drivers behind you... Milhamscion 02-22-2004, 04:18 PM get a Prius good luck!!!!! Djuan 03-03-2004, 06:51 AM yeah the best thing to do is just pay premium prices for gas, let the economy go to s#it, and watch your friends die in war..... just getting your goat ahurdl01 03-12-2004, 03:17 AM the tornado is a gimmick. Whatever efficiency it provides by smoothing the air flow gets totally screwd up when you get to the throttle bodies Radiodude 03-12-2004, 04:35 AM Might me off topic but there is station here just north of Houston in Spring selling gas at 1.344 1.444 1.544 It was a conoco.. i just though that was a hellova deal. On a side note i never thought I'd get excited over 1.34 for regular.... times are sad. In my senior year of HS in 1998 gas bottomed out at .689 a gallon for regular... GOD thoses were the days.... damn you Hummer H1. Just venting... again es65notch 03-12-2004, 04:42 AM thats great   gas here is 2.05.9 thats the cheapest it goes up to 2.69.9 for regular not super     ahurdl01 03-12-2004, 04:43 AM cheapest i ever seen was a few years back, 99 cents, and now its like 1.82 es65notch 03-12-2004, 04:52 AM makes me sick thats why im trading in my F150 extra cab for a lava just waiting for the 5 speed I was told first week of april I hope? going from $48.00 a tank to $20.00 a tank and they both go about 300 miles that should help ShadowMage 03-12-2004, 04:56 AM Yet another reason I would like to get rid of my ranger....21 mpg...ugh.... es65notch 03-12-2004, 05:02 AM I feel ya I wish 21 I get like 12    ShadowMage 03-12-2004, 05:20 AM The sad part of it is it's a 4 banger AND my dad's v6 buick gets a lot better gas milage than my ranger. :x And ouch, man! If you don't mind me asking, what are you driving to get that kinda mpg? Mark1 03-13-2004, 07:27 AM One way to extend the MPG is to take your time to get up to speed. It takes a lot of gas to get moving, but if you take it easy you can conserve a fair amount. es65notch 03-13-2004, 03:13 PM its a ford f150 extra cab v6 with 20" and it gets anywhere from 10-14 mpg[/img] 2fixA 03-13-2004, 03:56 PM from a resident of Katy Texas no less... how's it out there west of Houston?? I miss Bass Pro Shops for my fishing gear... anyway back to cars... if you really want to get better gas mileage get an xA  at 34 mpg w/ aggressive driving and parking lot 880/101 I can't complain.. as for the xB, how much can be done w/ non-aggressive shifting? saken4 03-14-2004, 02:29 AM I must just be one of the lucky few but when i drive my xb like a madddd man chirping the tires and down shifting threw the gears i still get 23 mpg alot nicer than my wrx that thing eats up gas! |
