Default ROCK-1, WINDSHIELD-0

So a rock comes flying out of a UFO and spacks my windshield! OUCH!!! Big star right in the center of my windshield. After the crying and yelling at the gods for their ill move, I realized that I could call my local "Glass Pro" (that's actually their name) and get it replaced for free. So I'll be dropping the box off at lunch and picking it up when I leave work. They are right down the road from my office! Yay!!!!

Make sure you are getting a "toyota" windshield, and not a cheaper branded winshield.....

this is SOOOOO tru take it from me

ROCKS - 2 BOBO WINDSHIELD - 0

Also, i would like to say, for some reason 75% of the Xb windshield replacements i have seen, the window is NOT aligned correctly, ie the VIN is nolonger visable in the front thru that littel rectangle, the TOP of the windshield is too low and there is space and that black goo they put on it to seal it CLEARLY visable..i had Safelite replace the glass FOUR TIMES before they got it SORTA right, and the bastard chipped my fawking paint at the top too!

Also make sure they use the FACTORY OEM PART for the rubber seal that goes arount the edge of the window, of not the corners will NOT look stock as the generic seal they use is not engineered to take those top corners correctly and you WILL have space there....

Hope that helps, C

I'm on my fifth chip now. I'm waiting until it actually cracks across before i look at a replacement, but it looks like it's been sand blasted, there's so many pits in it. Some of the roads around here are totally deteriorating especially with the extra wet season we've had, so I'm not going to rush and fix it and then just have it crack again. This last dinger I got looks like it'll be the one that runs for the edges...

I met a big ___ rock the other day while drivng in the rain but luckly, and I mean LUCKLY, the rock just so happen to hit the windshield wiper as it was coming across my windshield. It was like it went into slow motion or something cause I saw it coming and everything. It did leave a really, really small chip that you can't really see but it would have cracked it no doubt if it wasn't for my wiper. I love my wiper... but only cause he saved me $200+ bucks.

Praise whomever, but I have yet to crack or chip my windshield. I hit a crow, beak first one time. I've had rocks that were visibly flying at my windshield smack and just get shrugged right off... I dunno what type of glass I have, but it seems to work.

It is. It's free cause my deductible is $100 and this place pays your deductible if 100 or less. They end up making a ton off the insurance. They couldn't replace the winder today cause they ordered it from the dealer and the dealer didn't send the seal, and it will be Tuesday before the seal will get here.
