Yea I got rid of the dealer one this week since I received my plates from our Motor Vehicle Department.....I thought to myself I am not putting the plastic license plate frame back on....lol :rofl: I'll buy a nice brushed aluminum or polished one to put on it.

I am not finding any decent plate frames anywhere. They are all too gaudy or just more plastic. Anyone got something to share on a source for good frames?

no frame for me, I'm just using the eight08customs bracket on the front, and a rubber isolator on the rear with no frame.

Hmmm.. I'd say that takes you OUT of the A.S.S. club. Dealers have plate frames with their name they give you with the car. They also have toyota/scion and TRD ones for sale. All Genuine Toyota Co. You've soiled your xB.

You can buy a SCION plate frame from your local SCION dealer. I know I can. Then I think you would still be stock.

Those hubcaps aren't stock. If they didn't come on the car, then it's not stock. The car came with hubcaps, but those aren't the ones it came with. You're pushing the definition of 'stock'. You're not wasting your money on things you don't need, but you're still buying toys for your car. :P

Tons of people have stock cars. They're probably just not on the forums. A lot of people buy Scions just because they're cheap transportation with tons of features, period. Why drive a BMW into the ground, when you can just buy an economy car that you don't care about? I bought the xB as a daily driver because it was cheap and economical, but I already knew every modification I was going to make before I took delivery. Whether I am driving a Pinto or a Maserati V8 Spyder Cambiocorsa... I'd probably modify it because I'm that way. My friend just bought a new Cadillac CTS-V and the 2nd day, he installed coilovers, Corsa exhaust, and a cold air intake... but not everyone is like us.

Let's face it -- the xB is cheap and that's why a lot of people buy it, but customization and accessorization is part of every car. You're never going to get away from that.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with MidLifeScionCrisis, the dude is a master of sarcastic wit. He loves yanking the chains of those who take this car stuff way too seriously. Some people get it, but some of you don't, particularly those who lack the humor detecting gene or whose sense of self worth is dependent upon what others think of your ride.

For an example of how the humor-impared are thrown into a tizzy when they can't tell MidLifeScionCrisis is joking, take a look at the thread on hubcaps versus custom wheels.

I don't know if you caught this but the pict of my XB with the hubcaps is FAKE the first picts are the real one of my ride....and although my wife hates the $11.77 plate holders I notice that lots of people stop and look hard at them. Are they tacky looking??? Probably. Do I care?? No. But then "I still do what I want"

My scion DID NOT come with a factory plate from but some crappy plastic one. I do NOT want to forefit my membership in A.S.S. because quite frankly it smeels great to a be an A.S.S. ................therefore I do NOT agree with your conclusions and my XB is still 100 percent stock :come: :come: :come:

a friend is going to throw her plate holder. it has a little rusting at the back and it says "how do i drive, call 1800 eat ____"

I took the plastic stick on, rub the glue off , took off the rust and primer a bit, then polished the thing, its good as new.
