Default Question about coilovers?

So searching didnt help...
the search functions sucks-everytime i try go back i have to research.

anyways, on coilovers, when you get them can you put them strait on?
i hate springs and shocks because when you do them yourself you godda dragass down to menekie cuz i dont have a spring compressor. its real pain.
but dont coilovers completely replace the springs and shocks? if so that would mean just put them on right? please correct me if im wrong, for this is why i am posting...
im excited if im right. thanks in advance

Do you know how much coilovers cost compared to springs? That might burst your bubble.
