Default According to KBB.com my car is worth more than I paid!

KBB.com now has 2005 scions listed and Private party value on my 05 tC with 3000 miles on it is worth $17,365! I only paid $16,465 brand new for it! Maybe I should sell and make a few bucks, lol.

when? and how much did kbb say it was?

you can almost expect kbb price or more for a private sale. just dont use them for trade-ins because dealers go by another system. i can't remember which...

i'm not even thinking about trading it in. like i said before, gonna drive it till the floor falls out.

i have a feeling that the 05 tC is going to be worth hardly anything as a trade in in a few years. but if they stop making them in the next few years, that might make a difference.

kind of a bummer but i agree...i believed Scion was telling the truth about three years and out on all models...but then came the t2b...In Autoweek(i think) they had an article on the t2b. The guy from Scion said that something like the t2b will come out..once the current demand for the xB is gone...if you go by that, then who knows if the xB will be done by next year..or if the same will happen with the tC...even if the xB is replaced by a t2b derivative that isn't exactly killing off the box..if Honda said there will be no more CRX's after 87 and then came out with the slightly bigger and more powerful 88 model but called it the DMX..i would think those who were hoping for some resale retention and exclusivity would be a little bothered.

Yeah, the prices will prob go down the drain after awhile, but shouldnt be anything like what happened to my Eclipse when I bought it new... Paid like $25K for it brand new and year and half later got likt $16K for trade-in. Toyotas hold their value pretty well.

Retail- $20,680

Then again, I've already put some money into it...

This topic is so stupid as the topics here at SL continue to get worse and worse. First of all, I want you to see someone pay you $17+ for the 2005 tC. It's like saying you got a basketball card that Beckett Card Monthly says is worth $100.00. That doesn't mean thats how much you will get for it even though you paid only $2 for the pack of cards. Give me a break. KBB is just an estimate of how much its worth, and NOT a realistic amount you will RECEIVE from a buyer. Case closed.

It was just something someone found. More people were actually laughing at the high price it listed than anything. Again, you feel you need to come in and "police" the site by telling everyone how stupid each and every post is. Pretty much just _____ing and complaining for no good reason. I love your hyper opinionated attitude with your "case closed", and other such comments. We should all listen to you necro so we dont waste our time with something not in your "rulebook". Some posts are just conversation, they dont all have to be some big important topic of serious discussion. Exercise your right to stay out and not read them. Sorry to everyone for spouting off on this, but lately this person as well as others have seen it their duty to post messages telling everyone what mods are ____, what posts are ____.. etc, in a completely arrogant and childish manner, as if they are infuriated over someting as ridiculous as what others do with their cars, their time, etc.

Toyotas do hold their value, and hopefully they will stop selling the 05s, that way, once darwinism weeds out our civic minded brethren, the value of our cars will actually hold. It's too early to speculate on the final designs of the t2b, though I imagine they'll stick with that bionicle/predator look, it's sexy. What I'd really like to see is something new, not an xB retread, which any way you slice it, is what the t2b is.
