Default toyoguard 700$ option does this really quiet the ride?

looking to buy a new scion xb today, toyogaurd option was included and was wondering what this was. the salesman said it was basically rust protection undercarriage and scotchguard, he said they spray something in the undercarriage that quiets the ride. seems fairly expensive.

Anybody have any info, does it really quiet the ride of the SCION XB? Is it worth it?

actually its just a undercoating and mostly in the wheel wells they spray, and the scotchgaurd man hey you can spray your own seats for less than 700$ and you can undercoat your own car by yourself too, i was just looking at it yesterday you can buy all that at a local hardware or automotive store!

Don't do it. Your car already has sound deadening plastic foam (?) inside the wheel wells. Look at it. Don't put more there. Not needed. It's a very quiet, isolated ride as it is.

such padding!

my mother-in-law got that option with her tc. mostly for the fabric protection, b/c if you have a stain that they can't get out they will replace the fabric. but, no it didn't do anything for noise at all.

Got my dealer to give it to me for free since they had already done it to my xB when it was on the lot. Test drove one without the undercoating and there is a very slight difference but only when going over bumps and small potholes, barely noticible. Wouldn't recomend it for the money.

...well, OVERHEAD is high for any business. Margins are not great on Scions, not for anyone.
