Default crash test results

I have seen once the crash test results for the Toyota bB, but they have seemed to have vanished from the internet. Anyone have a link or a pdf they could send me?

btw, when are they going to get around to testing the xB?

They re-arranged their site and the English language stuff got moved to a new "english" section.

Here are the bB test results:
http://www.nasva.go.jp/assess/englis...02e/as115.html
and here's the list of all the results (click on the model name to go to the detailed results):
http://www.nasva.go.jp/assess/englis...04e/as105.html
(That takes quite a while to load, don't worry...)

Hope that helps.

Thanks...I previously tried to find crash test results for the xB, but failed!
I much appreciate your post. It looks like the results are pretty good, but I still wish the xB had the option of getting side air bags...I betcha a dime toa dollar they'll be on the next incarnation of the xB.

Crash tests done with a bB are almost irrelevant. Our xBs have a lot added to them to make them compliant with US standards. I wouldn't put too much weight on the crash results of the Japanese Toyota bB.

You're right, pdrizzle, that the xB is reinforced a lot over the bB in some areas because of different standards and requirements.

Thing is, the testing on the JDM bB still reflects well on the xB, because the bB does QUITE well in the tests, even without the added bracing.

I find the short videos of the tests interesting - especially so when compared to many of the other vehicles. The bB/xB is one tough little box...

When...not if you get into a collision. How can you be so certain?

Yep, no one ever dies in a Lexus or Subaru WRX. Please... if someone hits you right at 35 - 50 mph it can cause major damage in just about any car short of a tank. Having been driving since the 70's and so far only had one wreck (my mini suv and the small car that hit me protected all parties fine) I still refuse to buy a car mainly based on how well it will protect me if I happen to have that major accident. Taking your logic, why aren't you just buying the biggest truck you can find or better yet, why take the risk of actually going out on the roads anyway? Wouldn't you feel much safer sitting in front of your TV watching Sponge Bob?

Drive safe folks and encourage a bit more safety in any cars, but to claim that our boxes are unsafe is hardly accurate. Good luck on your new purchase and I wish you safe driving.
