Some local guy selling a bone stock 2004 Scion xB for $13,000

I'm torn whether to get it or not

 

I always see a good deal and ask....why.

Why is he selling it....sounds good just check it out.

 

that's not much cheaper than a brand new xB... and it's over a year old

 

$13,800 for a new one. Where's the bargain?
Depreciation is high on a car as it rolls off the lot. and xB is too new to be a collectible.

 

with a new car you gotta think about taxes,fees, and other crap.

agreed with the above two, you can get a new one for 15.500 +tax/title/reg. and at least its not 13k old...and you get ur choice of auto or manual

 

Check cars.com I did a quick search for a CA zip and found a 2005 with 3k miles for like $11,700.

 

Sticker was $14,315 before TT&L, 5-speed.
I paid $15,433 drive out, go new if you can.
Taxes etc. still apply to a used car, at least in Texas.

I lucked out with taxes- only had to pay like $300. I only had to pay tax on the difference between my car loan payoff and the new amount financed.

 

The selling price just depends on the dealer. There doesn't seem to be an official value in the dealer's books yet so they charge what they want. We've found them locally going for over $18000 with no options or mods. I can't say if they've actually managed to sell a used one for that price but I hope they wouldn't.

 

No reported accidents...remember that many people just exchange info at the scene of minor accidents...so the info doesn't go to DMV, or to CarFax...

I'm not saying it's been hit...just check it out...and I must agree...with a brand new 05 xB Auto at $15.5k....

 

Doesn't seem that cheap....

I got my '05 BCP 5 speed, with rims, tyc tails, full tint, and a bunch of the scion options, including the 6 cd system. For $12,995. It had 10,500 miles on it, with a clean title. Bought from a dealer.

Look around, there is a better deal to be had.

 

Owner is a young kid. I called and his mom told me that he wanted to buy a brand new Nissan 350Z instead

By the way, the best rate Toyota Financial can offer someone with perfect credit is 5.8% APR. I checked on scion.com

What would you rather do? Pay the extra $2,500 for a brand new one? Or save some money and go with an '04 model with 6K miles?

insurance companies issue salvage titles when the accident is so bad that it's not worth it to fix the car

im only looking at cars with clean titles, and never been into any accidents

 

Sounds like a descent deal... New ones are 14,995 with auto trans. Plus the destination, dealer fees, TTL,

So this is not bad if it is in excellent condition...

 

dude i picked up a sweet modified 2004 xb for 11,000 look around

 

If it is the color you want and you don't feel you have to have a brand new one, then buy it. I'm almost 50 and have only bought two new cars (my xB is one of them).

Used cars in good shape are a good value.
