I am curious to see what everyone out there has attempted to race, and what you have won and lost against...

I know I have tried to race alot of stuff, just because.. make sure you explain breifly about the race.

tC-vs-RSX-S | Probally not a whole 1/4 mile run, but I had left school and pulled up next to one at the light. Him and his girl were in his RSX and I was by myself. Jumped him almost flawlessly at the light and was able to keep my space until about 4000rpm in 4th gear, then he was able to begin to catch up which at that time, traffic had begun to become congested.

tC-vs-Sentra SE-R | Last night actually, going to my g/f house, I had an SE-R pull along side of me as we were rolling. Finally two lights later were able to be the front two at the light. He looked to have had interior work done, and possibly something under the hood... only reason I think that is because of his pods and tach (but hey.. maybe he didn't) Light turned green, and he spun out toooo much... I left him at the light and I had beat him by at least a 1/2 cars length... we ran at least a 1/2 mile or 3/4 mile.

I had been beaten by a Lotus Elise the other day... Man.. I gotta say that is one sick ___ car!

stu, can you feel the difference with the header on top end? third gear is where i always lose my races. course i only race things that have more hp. I have only actually raced a celica gts and lost by a car length up to 90. i wonder what i will do once all my new mods get on.

I definelty can feel a difference with both the megan headers, and the WR intake with the TRD exhaust... I definelty think that the reason why racing is getting better for me is the short throw shifter too, and the tC's jumping ability... I'm pretty sure that some of these races I've done has been drivers skill related too.. so..

more hondas the you can shake a stick at, 1 rx7 1980s i think, and then i got my ___ whuped by a civic hatch with a turbo b18 the other night, that was pretty cool, the guy was running an open down pipe with no other exhaust at all, with sparks and ___ flyin all over the place. i heard the BOV as soon as he pulled up, but was feelin cocky, and i got smoked!

a g35 took me by two cars by the end of 2nd gear... of course my launch was crap cause i didn't want to race at first :lalala: to make things worse he slowed down so i could catch up and went from a 40 roll when we were even... raped again!!! he did that about 2 more times from a roll :nails: jeez gimmie a break!!!

Well i finally had my first stop light race the other day.

Hooked-up Lincoln LS

rolled up to light i looked over and he inches up like he wants a piece...im thinking this big a$$ car wants to go....So i was like what the hell....i flow of the line and had him a car length but he was quick and gained a 1/2 car but, was still behind.....went up to 80 mph( in a 45 mind u)...and then i just let him go but i had him the whole way....pulled up to the next stop light and i took off again but he didnt go. Guess didnt want to try me again :no: lol i was like :relief: because i thought he had a good chance. Anyone know how this car should match up....pretty sure he had the sports package with the rims and everything (manual too)???

Thats because it can take most anything with their car without trying.....i have driven the sports package one in auto and couldnt believe the power it had....could only image that the stick version kicks even more!!!! :bow:

for 30K the G35 is a very solid car. its got everthing, luxury, power, reliability, and looks.

Believe it or not, if you survey some Lotus boards, a lot of Elise owners are swapping their 2ZZ's for Honda motors. . . I don't remember which one, but I think it's the K20. Lighter weight, and higher tune-ability. Those things are already ridiculously light, and I've heard of them shedding an extra 200 lbs and more

The G35 is like the upscale Infiniti version of the tC. . . something I wish LEXUS had. Supposedly there will be a coupe version of the new IS350, and it's rumored to be aiming to beat the G35.

I raced an eclipse turbo up a bridge here in Jacksonville. It looked like a 98 (guessing). I saw him waeving in and out of traffic and once he got next to me he slowed and looked at me. We both gunned it at the same time and I had him by at least a car length. Then all of a sudden I look in my mirror and he is way behind my with a cloud of black smoke flowing from the back of his car. I'm guessing he blew his turbo. :lalala:

I know this is the tC forum. . . but I thought I'd share a story.

Now the xA is no speed demon, but it's about average; 1/4 mi in 16.7. I've had a few good kills. . . mostly annoying fart can civics that gave me the "ricer" eye. . . A very old and very beat up 240SX drop top--its engine was probably out of tune or something. . . I would think they'd be faster than that. Early in my SL history, I posted a much debated kill story about a BMW 523 (and most people waved BS flags, even tho they are NOT fast and are heavy).

But I have no reason to brag or show off, as this car is NOT fast. . . but here is a VERY good story.

I'm sitting at a light, on a two lane road. Up ahead at a little less than a 1/4mile distance the road merges into 1 lane. . . I hate being behind slower drivers, so I figure I'd get ahead. Well, I notice this minivan inching up a little, and it seems like he's in a rush as well. . . whatever.

The light turns green. . . and I hear an engine coming to life, so I quickly follow suit, not to be overtaken by a soccer mom. Neck and neck. . . I'm seeing a door. . . I'm seeing a rear fender. . . I'm seeing a HONDA badge!

Now it was close, and wasn't a total slaughter, and he had the jump on me, as I didn't anticipate that move. . . from a mini-van. . . but anyway, to justify myself, if you don't already know, a Honda Odyssey has a 3.5L V6, with 255hp and 250 lbft. They do the 1/4mi in 16.2 (which is obviously faster than me, and is stepping on the heels of a tC!!!!). . . never underestimate an Odyssey!

the GTi must of been modded, and you must of been stock.. I have a CAI, short shifter, & header and beat my friends '03 GTi (with CAI) in the quarter mile. anything past the 1/4 (90mph or above) and he will pull on me.

GTi's stock only run about a 15.4-15.6, (vr6 or 1.8T), and you'll beat it off the line if you're a good driver.. the drive-by-wire system on the GTi's is terrible, it really kills alot of performance in 1st and 2nd gear.

but when they get the GIAC chip, it's all over (especically the 1.8T).

Well no sh!T ... A turbo anything with 120 or more base hp will beat us... that doesnt say much

I saw the elise at the Minneapolis Auto Show this year... my favorite in the show! They had the 190 hp version, I believe there is also a 170 hp version as well (correct me if Im wrong on that one). 190 ponies in an 1800 lb car is sick as hell! For under $45,000 it is hard to beat that car IMO, given you are looking for a pure sports car. They wouldnt let anyone sit in that one either :eyebrow:

:eyebrow: I've raced my buddy Adrians GTi 25th Anniversary Edition several times, and there is no way you are beating a stock GTi.. absolutely no way! First off 180 > 160, not to mention turbo charged... and the R32.. :lol: There sure as hell is no way to win.. not without mods..

BTW.. I have my Intake, short shifter, and header in too.. and still lost.. I doubt they were modded, and if they were.. still isn't good for the home team.

first race yesterday... srt-4. racing on a twisty street, steep curves and elevation opening out into a straight. the srt-4 couldn't take me in manuvering but once the road straightened out, it was gone :| . once i get my turbo, i'm hunting it down :gun:

even i am surprised the tC could out handle the srt4, i know that car cant handle for ____, but i would have thought its speed would have helped. good job anyhow.

I've raced my buddy Adrians GTi 25th Anniversary Edition several times, and there is no way you are beating a stock GTi.. absolutely no way!

my friend has a '03 GTi VR6 (the 1.8T & VR6 run pretty much exactly the same track times), we race all the time.. all together I'd say we raced over 30 times, from a stop, from a slow roll, from a fast roll.. we even switched driver's a few times. the only time he ever will pull on me is if we're going 70mph or above.

I don't understand why it's so hard to believe, GTi's are mid-low 15 second cars stock. low 15s are VERY rare stock. the DBW technology is terrible on them stock and kills alot of performance in 1st & 2nd gear.

the best time I ran at brandenton was a 15.2, I normally run around 15.3-15.5 in my tC.

and I agree the R32 would destroy me, they're badass cars.

I have the same issue that you're talking about, I don't think they tested the redline, only the cobalt SS (which is pretty much the same car)..

the redline would of beat it even worse, the redline is actually faster because the rims are smaller and less heavy.

15.2 is damn good...how are you launching? Ive managed a 15.77 stock (TRD exhaust and 18" chrome wheels) and I range between 10.2 and 10.5 in the 1/8th (cant get the damn launch down, I know there is a few 10ths to be gained!!)

I lowered the tire pressure to 25psi, i just rotated the tires for the first time so they had pretty much off all the tread on them.. this was on the crappy stock tires, also.

i launched at 2,300-2,600 rpms, i feathered the clutch and got a 2.2 60', i had some great shifts, I even chirped 3rd.

How do you feather the clutch? I know how to feather the gas, but it seems that feathering the clutch would make it jerk a little bit. I dunno, I'm new to proper launching

Feathering is done by not dumping the clutch but actually riding it a little. This hopefully eliminates or decreases wheel spin for you.

Before i went on my modding spree i felt it better to almost rev match the gears from 1st and second and third. if i slammed the gears it would be like lagg between the gears and would kill me. im still breaking the intake and exhaist in so i havent really gunned it that bad yet.

I killed a toyota matrix... I was driving normal when I see this car trying to weave in and out of traffic to get along side me... well needless to say he gets along side me and starts reving his engine. I dont do anything, I havent raced since long before I sold my camaro. We get to the stoplight and I was like, what the heck, this kid has a hard on for this so I'll humor him.. I wait for it and then...GREEN! he hits the gas, I take off normal at first because I wasnt really sure if he was going to go for it, so I slam the gas down now for a smooth take off, then second, then third and it was over before I got to 4th... I know it had exhaust because of the stupid fart can sound, not sure what else... well thats my story :come:

you rev match at the track? if you redline each gear doesnt it put you where you should be in the next gear?

no not at a track. when you shift from second to third gear and slam the gear do you not feel a "lag". im sure its the throttle but i stayed on the gas, not to much, and shifted.it wouldnt bog down when i shifted.

I've gotten to where I can feel exactly where and when i need to shift in order to setup perfectly for the next gear... I hardly use first.. I'll launch it, then almost instantly grab second, then maybe a second or two more ride it, then i've found riding 3rd to just where your Max HP peaks then shifting, can keep you ahead of alot of cars out there.. although F/I usually is what kills me, either that, or someone that has alot more bolt-on's or HP period...

Practice makes perfect.. I usually find a road that is almost never busy, mainly side streets near industrial parks, and practice launching from 1st-3rd.. that's the best way to get familiar with your Scion... IMO

yeah, 3rd gear feels really weak when you first shift into it, that's normally where the other car will take the lead.

i'm sure feathering the clutch is hurting it pretty bad, but it's the only way I can get a good launch. if I drop the clutch I either bog out, or spin & hop.

if you're just dropping the clutch for the tC I highly doubt it's possible to get better then a mid 15 (even with some bolt ons)

Add one to the kill side.. Some guy :lol: in a freaking blue Saturn Ion tried me yesterday.. and by-far.. he got just ate up far worse than anyone else yet.

last night was pretty cool. i am pulling up to a light and i see an evo 8 and a STI about to go at it. then this si rolls up to me. im behind the evo and hes behind the STI. i could hear both the evo and STI reving i look over at the si and he looks back at me and asks if i wanna race. i was like sure. so bam light go greens evo and sti take off and me and the si. i felt like i was in a circuit race on gt 4. haha. but in second gear the si was about a 2 car behind me.....then i hit third. i started walking him so bad. i had about 4 cars when i put it in 4th the EVO and STI where gone. i couuldnt see them anymore. was a really cool race.

Sweet! I had reved at an Evo 8 and two STi's the other night, they had an Accord leading them and some Blazer behind them.. they all reved, but no one wanted to hand my ___ too me.. I guess they knew it like me.. I would have gotten it handed too me! :lol:

Dam, i always pull up next to cars that would kick my ___ and try to race, especially when me and my bro are driving sperate cars(he has an srt-4) he always kicks my a$$ but once in a while ill catch him off guard, cant wait till i get my turbo

I raced an 03 Accord V6 6 spd and got killed. I already knew it was over cause it was my bros car. I just had to see how bad it would be.

I just got smoked by a Trans-Am...but before you hippies start bashing let me explain.

I was coming back from lunch and was sitting at a Red light, there was a truck in the left lane, I needed in the right lane. So I had planned on taking off quick and getting ahead to get in the right lane. Well the truck turned or something and when I went to take off it was a Trans-Am. I looked over and he was looking at me smiling, so I romped on it in 1st and stayed with him, shifted to 2nd and stayed with him, then 3rd, and 3rd is where he stopped playing with me and took off. I still have the smell of tire smoke in my nose from when he hit 3rd. As I passed him later when he was turning we both laughed. It was fun, I wasn't seriously trying to race, but it was fun to mess around like that.

Its so nice to have the kind of power like that to play with peoples emotions, I use to love when someone would roll up on me looking for a race and I would give them the advantage of thinking they where winning to about the 1/8 mile mark then put the pedal from half throttle to the floor and good bye. Ah those where the days.

This morning on the way to work, two differnt races.. nothing I even started.. First one was when I was coming too a light. I saw what looked to be a STi about 3 cars behind me. I saw the STi stickers on the fog light housing, and just assumed it was infact a STi, anyway, it wasn't a STi.. well we get through that light and the turn off for another highway was on the right, and the light that I was coming too was turning red... so this guy in the WRX cuts back across the highway back too me to line up with me at the light. :lol: I was like.. WTF??? Your going too intentionally miss your exit to race me.. :lol: :loser: OK... I mean.. I know I wont win.. so why not. I'll end it there.. you know what happens then.. :lol:

Then a guy in a new F-150 trys to cut in front of me.. so I dont let him, and then he rides my ___ for like a 1/2 mile... eventually he pulls along side of me at a light, and again.. I got my ___ ripped apart.. :lol: 0 for 2 today..

Well.. I dont know if he heard the turbo.. but I did.. so..

The light turned green, and all three of us peeled out at the line, the WRX grabbed and took off.. same exact time.. so did the Integra and I.. Well.. this got really funny.. the WRX got over in front of me, and the girl must of hit 3rd.. cause.. needless to say.. that WRX left with its tail in between its legs..

The chick in the Integera and I were lined up at the next light... she again looked over at me, this time.. just because I thought it was funny.. I rolled down the window.. winked and blew a kiss.. she smiled and kissed back.. :lol: and boom... off she went!

0 for 2 already today.. :lol: But it was nice!

LOL. This is the funniest topic i've read so far. I really like my Tc as it is a solid car to get around in, but it is by far not a fast car. It just funny to me how the Tc attracts all kinds of attention but I don't get many takers when I'm driving my blown big block Chevelle.

tech9incally this isnt a kill but i technically beat a early 90s supra this weekend. i was n the dyno and put down 149hp and he put down 147 hp. he walked up to me and says well guess you beat me. so theres my kill for the weekend.......o almost forgot some 99 si dropped rolled up to me at a light. he asked me if it was superchargered. i said no. at he light we went and i pulled 2 car lengths on him and he stayed back there until 75 or so. we came anothr light and gave me the thumbs up. i gave him the thumbs up.. he then holds up a polished tubo and says hes on his way to get it installed. i then tell him that was just messin with him that i have a b18c drop in the car. his mouth dropped.. lmao. goodtimes.

Wow! Yesterday, "ScionBandit" and myself, drove up to Atlantic City for the SEMA IAS... Two phat ___ tC's rolling together up I-95 and around the cities are definelty a magnet for a good time.. I couldn't even begin to tell you how many different cars we raced, outmanuverd, and smoked.. :clap: By far the best time I've had driving yet..

Tried to run the tC off the road but deflected off the tC and nearly avoided being crushed by 2nd place finisher, '80s POS mustang. Mr. Raccoon ended up in the ditch, lost his grill and his engine looks blown, indefinitely. He scored a .5 for style and courage. His damage fine will be waived. R.I.P.

And on the way to work I beat another tC, he had I/E/SS, I have I/H/SS, i had him by about a car length. real good race.

Yes and no. Though they were never given a power boost, NSXs continued to get improvements in terms of weight and gear ratios. I believe it was Car and Driver that ran a 12.9 quarter mile in 2001. That is an outrageously fast time for a 290hp car.

Furthermore, while the NSX may not be the fastest car in a straightline, it is *damn* fast around a road course. I think the NSX actually tied times with the Ferrari Challenge Stradale at Nurburgring, despite being extremely underpowered in comparison.

chrysler 300 SRT-8, (i should have lost) but i had to pass him on an exit lane to do it. by the time i got around him i was doing 115. but the funniest by far, some guys in an older taurus tried to race me. obviously i smoked him from the light, but as i slowed down to go around a 90 degree turn, he passed by me with his brakes locked up and wiped out into a grass hill. i'm sure he f-ed up his bumper and radiator, but they weren't hurt or anything. my g/f and i laughed the rest of the way home.

Like I said, the car continually improved. By the late 90's models they were good for mid 13s or so, getting to a peak average of about 13.3-13.4 by the 2000+ models. This was due to a combination of improvements (higher displacement engine in 1997, different type of aluminum used in construction, different gear ratios, different wheels/tires, etc.) The 12.9 was obviously a unicorn time, but mid 13s is still very quick. On par with stock Supra TTs, and slightly faster than 300ZX TTs and FD RX-7s.

On my way to ATL yesterday.. I had my arse handed to me by a turbo probe :tap: I didn't realize he was boosted until after he dipped on me!

heh last saturday when i was coming back from san antonio, i stopped at like 3 in the morning in this little ___ town called hebronville and this dude pulled up in a 1.8L Jetta.... which obviously had a turbo... i told him to pop the hood and he a an aem cold air intake, a turbonetics turbo, and i dont remember what kind of full exhaust kit... needless to say he smoked me... i only have a custom ram-air.. but samong my other races, ive beaten 2 Chevy SS's (only because they have a speed limiter and we were already going 100) a dodge hemi (for the same reason) i lost to a 350z... ive beaten a 05 mustang... and alot of other stuff i cant remember... my friend who has a hemi with flowmasters and a ram air wants to race me buit i kno ill lose.....

I got killed by a 400hp GTO on the way into work.

ive beaten 2 Chevy SS's (only because they have a speed limiter and we were already going 100), ive beaten a 05 mustang...

The SS runs low 14s - high 13s bone stock and actually can go a higher MPH then the tC.. He probably just let off the gas.

The 05 mustang, even if it was a V6 you shouldn't of won. I've seen them run mid-high 14s bone stock. Most likely the driver couldn't drive it very well.

I beat a harley davidson F150 today, from a stop until about 3rd gear.. It was a really close race but I had him by about 1/2 a car.

my friend just got the 06 STi and he has always wanted to race me...and I wanted to race him to see what I could do. Well it was from a dig with the normal three beeps on a loooong strait away up here in NYS; I do 120 on this road from a dig at least once a week. I have CAI/front strut bar and thats it. He also had a CAI on his too. I took him bad in 1st and 2nd gears -- I didnt even see him when I looked to the right. Half way through 3rd gear all I hear is nasty turbo spool and He passed me easily at about 80 MPH. We kept goin til about 110 and I never got more than 20 feet behind him before we let off. Flame me if you will but Ive had 3 stick shift cars and this was his first car -- about 4 months old or so. So dont be afraid if you know how to drive, you can make an STi driver feel real bad when you take him up to 80 MPH.

This isn't the first time I've raced this guy.. the last couple times I've raced him, he's always beat me in 3rd gear.. This time I would say around 4th is when he finally caught back up to me.. I've added my stiffy and my NST pully's since our last encounter.. this time I completely left him at the line.. pretty much didn't even see him in my perf vision until around 4th gear.. awesome race.. I just cant wait til i'm boosted, then I'm going to hurt his feelings some :)

I know I'm not going to beat him, but I wanted a rush.. Friggin red Z28 Camaro pulls next to me, revs his engine, then glances at me.. so of course.. The light turns green, and SKEET!.. I left him off the line.. pretty much until I was shifting into 3rd.. then of course the inevidable happend :loser: I seriously cannot wait to get my turbo system.. there are going to be some hurt feelings around Southern Maryland :)

I raced my friend again in his '03 GTi VR6 (CAI, motor mounts, and BFGoodrich tires) after I put on my s-pipe last night..

He never wants to race from a stop because he has a hard time launching his car for some reason.. so I talked him into going from a 10mph roll. We were within a 1/2 a car from each other all the way up to 85mph where we stopped racing. He did have a very slight lead at the end when we stopped. I can't wait to get my crank pulley.. I think I'll be able to take him after that.

Sweet.. My boy Adrian has the 25th Anv. GTi with CAI, and he did something to the BPV on it.. anyway.. I always have fun with him.. I've beat him a few and he's beat me a few.. basically a drivers race.

at what point should you be beating this guy. His 60 ft is way better, his 0-60 is better and his trap speed should be way higher. So commenst like "So dont be afraid if you know how to drive, you can make an STi driver feel real bad when you take him up to 80 MPH". You are wrong. By the time you reach 80 he is already at 90+. Your buddy can't drive and now you are making uneducated assumptions about STI's. I don't care how many sticks shifts you have driven. Even if he butchers the launch he would still catch you with his trap speeds. And from a roll forget it.

I was still debating this, I dont want to spend a lot, but I dont want crap.. something cheap and reliable, with the power to boot. I am kinda interested in that Greddy kit too.. and the World Racing Kit.. still waiting on more info from both until I make my mind up.. I'd like to persue sponsorships again.. I think I need to finish what I started :)

I got my first kill last night. A 300ZX was riding my butt and flashing his high beams at me as we were going up a canyon (Beverly Glen for my L.A. folks). I pulled over to let him by but he pulled over with me, so it was obvious I he wanted to go. We reached the top of the canyon and stopped at the Mulholland Drive light and he began flashing his high beams again. The light turned green a few seconds later, and we were off Japanese downhill style (I lead, he follows). He must not have been that good of driver because he wasn't in my rearview by the 5th corner.

so just a few hours ago as i am leaving my work parking lot, there is a stop light right out of the lot and i was going to make a left turn and there was this lancer that already was at the lights to go straight. i have my music down, as im leaving the lot and really dont turn it up too much anyways. so the lights turn green and i go normally shifting at around 3k. by the time im at the next lights this lancer es is next to me and there are 3 guys stairing me down. they are bumping their stock speakers, i was able to hear them distorting from my car (we both had our windows down) light changes and they take off i hear an intake. by the time im at the next light my sub is hitting hard and they took it as a challenge i guess. so he revs. i dont bother to rev back. this was in a downtown location so i did not want to attract attention. lights change and there off, i take off normally and then gun it in 2nd, i catch up and burn them bad by the time im at 65 ish, right when i looked back the freeway entrance was commin up i flew on the ramp and was on the freeway. kinda wish i had gone straight to see what they would do next. oh well theres no time in life for a buncha ricers who think there lancer es is the ____.

Yeah, definite BS flag here.

Even assuming you launched your car as hard as you could, and he only eased it into first at 2000rpm (below where his turbo spools), he would still probably crush you by 60-70mph and I mean hard.

i beat teh evo 9 and g35 the same night on mullhulond drive starting from outpost all the way to cahuenga on rainy night. evo was about 8 car lengths and g35 crashed. for sure they were noobs cuz i drive that hillside at 60 mph to work every day. Any one from la knows how wet and debris ridden mullholond drive gets during december. 2fast4u should know

I can bet you the Evo was not trying/didnt know how to drive. A Evo challeneged in the twistys will kill most anything, even cars upwards of $100k.

Just won last night against a Jetta with intake and exhaust. I was toying with him until I kicked it in fourth. He knew he didn't have a chance. My friend was behind at the light. He said it was ridiculous. So far, 3-0 (Civic, Integra).

I think that's a small amount considering I've had my car for almost a year and a half now.

I was with my friend in his '03 GTi VR6 last night and he got beat by an '05 XRunner by about a car length. Really close race..

There was a stop sign coming up so my friend slowed down & stopped.. The moron in the xrunner just kept going and sailed through the intersection going about 80mph.. Good thing there wasn't anyone on the roads.

I think the GTI would of had him from a stop.

actually the evo i killed was a crappy driver, i drive his car better then him when i raced it against other evos. he had to replace his clutch at 10k miles

It was a convertible SVT Cobra Non-S/C is all I know. It sounded mean, but wasn't faster than the TB SS.


not to go off topic, but a guy in a Brand NEW 06 Enthusiast Edition 350Z raced me in my 03 Tourning Edition 350Z. Both 6spd, but he couldn't drive as good, so he lost. New 06 models are rated 300hp while previous models are rated 287hp.

Obviously the guy in the cobra couldn't drive.

Bone stock it should be running mid-low 13s @ ~105-108mph. Which is much faster then a trailblazer SS.

I just beat a SC400 by about a car length.. He got a small jump from the line (I didn't even realize he was going to race), so I didnt' get to launch or anything.. I just kind of bogged it in first.

I didn't pass him until 80ish, it was a really good race.

Its good to see the tC pull on something in 3rd/4th gear!

You are experiencing a little phenomenon called Tourqe Steer. You won't find that in a Honda, well.....Because they have no TQ... :rofl:

The h22 Civic want's to run the tC again, once he gets the Nitro working properly, so a race should be going down between us this weekend. We are going to the 1/8th track this weekend as well.

I was driving home from work yesterday minding my own business when I newer S-10 extreme starts pacing me. I slowed down a little, and he did the same..

I look over at him and he's pointing ahead like he wants to race. I didn't do anything right away and he just guns it and flys by me. After that he slams on his brakes and yells out "slow down to 40mph". I figured, what the hell, downshift into 2nd gear and yell back "3 honks".

I honk once and he takes off. He slows down again and I put my hand out the window holding up 3 fingers.. he nods and drops a gear. I honk 3 times then put an instant 1/2 car on him in 2nd, shifted to 3rd (chirped) and put another car or 2 on him.. Took it into 4th and he was a good 3-4 car lengths back.

Once he caught up he said: "those scions are pretty quick huh?? " I gave him a thumbs up and was off on my way.

That reminds me of the time we rapped a Ford Ranger that had open pipes on it. Back when we had the BCP tC, with just I/E. He was sitting at the light in front of us, and he is playing with the exhaust note. So, I tell my girl to pipe on him. She does, and he looks in his rear view and pipes back. So, it's game on. Light turns green, he squeals a little and we are tailing him bad, switch lanes, and I just give him the thumbs up as we blew his doors off.

So.. over the weekend I raced a few cats.

Same guy with the RSX-S, beat him finally.. came down to a drivers race, but beat him by about a car and a half. Basically light to light.

Some guy at this full service gas station was pumpin me full, and he asked, "you wanna run?".. I looked around to see if I saw what he was driving and saw a Ford Focus.. I leaned out the window and said.. "umm... against what?" .. he pointed to the Focus.. I said ":lol: are you serious?".. he said "yeah, hold on.. its almost my break.. we can line them up and see whats up".. so.. we did.. and well... i'm sure you know how that ended. 3 car lengths, easily :rofl:

Some dude in a black IS wanted to mess with me, so we also lined up.. twice, the first time he got me, I mis-shifted.. second go round, I pulled him off the line, and never once saw him out of the corner of my eye.. I know he has an exhaust, I dont know what else though.

Local guy with a BCP tC has always toy'd with me rollin round town, so this time I figured I'd give him a run, since he wanted it so badly. We finally got to line up at a light.. he rolled the window down, we chit chatted, he asked what I had done, and I pointed up to the light.. I said you got about 3 seconds before you find out :) Light went green, and off I went.. I told him to check out ScionLife.. so maybe he'll chime in one day :wink:

Yeah, they have stock LSD but it doesn't mean they won't spin off the line.

There is a video on this board somewhere and me beating a stock SE-R spec-v by about 2 car lengths from a stop and from a roll. My only mods at the time were CAI, and header.

Failing Clutch = Flat 9's @ 82.25 mph. I know it can break 8's for sure, but nothing you can do about clutch slippage all through first gear.

And the SRT-4 that I raced and was able to beat, this is what is in his sig on another site as for mods go:

Killed my friend's '05 SE-R Spec V with Nismo header/intake/exhaust and short-throw shifter by half a length..

So I was driving around last night with one of my friend's and I got into a race with a turbo escalade.

The thing sounded crazy, you could hear the turbo & BOV from a good 100 feet away. At first I thought it was a turbo diesel truck then all of a sudden a giant escalade comes up goes past me.

I caught up to him and revved a few times.. Dropped down into 3rd (I wish I could of been in second) and pulled like 1/2 a car for about 6-7 seconds (and I had a slight jump on him). When I shifted into 4th he put 2 car's on me. It was crazy seeing something that big pass me.

Very cool race even though I got beat, I'm sure the thing had to be making well over 400hp to move 5,000lbs. that good.

I was driving down Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd in Scottsdale, AZ a week or two ago in my g/f Mazda 3 and blew the doors off some punk kids tC.

After I quit racing, the kid flew past me doing well over 100 and flipping me off. :loser:

we have this sectio of windy roads in my town through the mountains and it is about a mile long. he beat me to 40 b4 the first curve, which wouldn't have been so bad except for the fact that the guy maintained no LANE discipline! he had no control of his car! i backed off just so he did not slam into the medium. I have an awsome system in my car, and of course i was playing "woman" by wolfmother... he stops at the next light and starts laughing at me like a prick!!! he turns his system up to try to compete, but it didn't work, it blew out! anyway, he starts flipping me off, and i am really ____ed...

end of story, i played it cool and took the abuse, but I DO want to post here to find out y i lost!!!! he has a bigger engine, and i am an auto... but it makes me soooooo mad knowing that i have invested THOUSANDS of dollars into my car and i can't take down a DAMN OLD MAXIMA!!!!

oh well... i guess i need some forced induction, gotta push myself up to at least 200 whp...

some maximas have big v6s. and are fast. There is a modded one that runs in town and runs low 14s, high 13s normally.

Your sig says it all, you have invested thousands in show, nothing in go. get some power stuff done and you could prolly take him. Don't feel bad till you put k's in power and lose anyway.

I would hope so. Hell, if I had a 50shot I probably would of beat him. I actually had a lead on him from a roll, then he came back in the high RPMs and put a few car lengths on me.

I have taken out a 400hp SUV before (that probably was lighter than the Escalade).. :P

I had some good kills up at the track on friday:

1. '04 Mustang GT (automatic, stock)
2. '04 PT Cruiser Turbo (exhaust)
3. CRX with 1.8 LS engine (real close race, I won twice and he won once)
4. '05 Scion tC (automatic with exhaust, he was running 10.8's, lol)
5. Older Thunderbird
6. Stock '06 Corolla XRS (beat him about 3-4 times)


Got beat by:
1. Older Acura Integra with a T3/T4 and 12PSI (running 8.5x's)
2. Modded '02 Z06
3. F-350 turbo diesel (running 8.7's all night with 2 passengers)

That's all I can think of right now.. My trap speed went up about 1.50mph after the megan exhaust got put on, so that's good.

I also beat a '03 WRX, bone stock.. both of us had a passenger, raced from a 3rd gear roll.. I gave him the jump and it was dead even all the way until the end of 4th gear when I put about a fender on him. Very close race, the guy in the WRX was very surprized and gave me a thumbs up.

hmm.... good race. But a stock 5 speed WRX should win against a tC with the mods listed in your sig. I'm fairly sure they are RSX-S fast (or faster).

yeah, thats true. Stock WRX has very nasty lag from a roll.....

I raced against an automatic 2003 galant GTZ this morning on the way to work. All i have in my car is an intake and exhaust.

I was driving at about 75 and saw the galant. As i got closer to it he started accelerating to stay ahead of me. As i got next to him we were doing about 85. Then I dropped to 4th and let off. He dropped the hammer on his accel also. it was pretty good for about 5 seconds till i started leaving him.
Another One bites the dust! Not that i smacked him or anything, but i def had about 2 or 3 cars on him when i was at 115.

I slowed down to ask what transmission he had and he said auto. I'm guessing it was a stock GTZ Didn't hear any aftermarket sounds coming from his car.

Yesterday i saw a mid to late 90's mazda mx3. Someone must have ran that thing to the ground before this guy owned it and it was prob still stock too. Anyway, he tried to gun it in front of me and i let him go for about 3 seconds then i downshifted, reached up to him and kept it at about 4900 rpms. As i heard him shift i just blew him with the rest of the power left in 3rd gear and walked this guy in 4th. no fun, but very funny.

The h22 Civic want's to run the tC again, once he gets the Nitro working properly, so a race should be going down between us this weekend. We are going to the 1/8th track this weekend as well.

Yesterday I raced my friend's 05 Altima and my other friend's 05 Lancer ES. I smoked the Lancer, but the Altima was next to me the whole way. I slowly started loosing him, but traffic slowed me down. My friend claims he would've beat me if he didn't have his AC on. I told him yeah right, I'm sure the AC on doesn't do that much of a difference. Also, I beat and Audi A4 & lost to a 06 V6 Accord(not too bad of a loss though).
