Hey guys just curious if anyone has tried the 215/40 combo with 18" rims..
i believe 215 is the widest we can go without rubbing right?

if this combo doesn't work i think i'm going to go with the 215/45 17"

thanks guys =)

im running 215/35/18 offset 45mm with 1.7inch drop.....and 215/40/18 with 2 inch with the correct offset shouldnt rub....maybe when turn all the way....but i have a good inch of clearance with the wheel cranked all the way....so i wouldnt see any problems with that size of sidewall on a 18....on 19 or bigger i would use a 35 series or 30series for anything larger

42 offset will put u very close on the back....can u get 38 or 32? it will work....i put 5mm spacers in the back with my rims.....45mm offset was to close for me....after driving a couple days i pulled them off and sure enough the rubber edge that sticks out from the tire to protect the rim had rubbed when the sidewall flexed...to close for me....42mm would work...

if you can fit 40 or 45 series, i recommend it. I have the Pirelli 215/35/18's and they are a little rough. The 45 series will definately ride alot smoother.

I am running 225/35/19 +42 offset no problem so far and i have 21000 miles on them. so ur 40's should be no problem. I would recommend stay in the 18 inch with 40 range for ride quality

thanks again guys...
so if 35's work with the 19's with 42mm offset
i guess 40's should work as well on 18's...=)

btw usdmbB
did you drop your car any?

scionxb04,
thanks again for your advice...so you're saying the 42mm will be close but will work even after it is dropped? maybe 2" the most?
