Default subs with stock radio???

i just had a quick question....my friend is offering me an excellent sub/box/amp set up for my TC but i dont have an aftermarket head unit yet. i was wondering if you think its worth waiting until i put in an aftermarket deck or if you think that the stock Pioneer unit is good enough...please let me know ASAP....thanks alot!!

the stock deck is great. pioneer, 160 watts, cant beat that. i have a sub hooked up to my stock deck, all i had to do is buy is buy a converter to run RCA's. sounds great and u get to keep that stock look.

I say dont worry about a new head unit, the stockie looks nice and has all the features your need.

^ agreed. I wouldnt go as far as saying it's a "great" HU, but it does work very well with a sub system. i'm running 2 12's in a bandpass box, and tapped high level inputs off of my rear speakers (if your amp does not accept highlevel inputs, you'll need a low level converter or search "scion amp" on ebay, get the plug harness)

if you're going to use the stock HU, I'd highly recommend using High Level Inputs if the amp is capable of accepting them....You'll generally get better sound from this method rather than using a line level converter......

High Level Inputs?? Rear Speakers?? Someone please explain...the only way I knew how to wire an amp was to get the adapter from ebay...

look on the amp, there should be a section that says "High Level Input"....it will either have a plug that should come with the amp with speaker wire coming out of it, or it will look like a place that you can hook speaker wire straight to it.....what you do is: piggyback into the rear speakers and run the new wire to the high level inputs......

by using the HLI's, you're gonna save the $50 for the ebay harness crap....and probably have better sound.....
