Anyone know if any Scion TCs have been stolen?
Remember when the 1999 Honda Civic SI came out. That car was stolen in very high numbers as soon as it was released. Is the engine immobilizer doing its job?
Cars with immobilizers don't show up on the lists of top stolen cars -- they all tend to be pre-2001 (exceeeept the Escalade). Civics, Saturns (they suck, but easy to steal for a wannabe) and Maximas (huge parts market, especially for the factory HIDs).
The immobilizer RF chip can be hacked, but it requires a laptop, skill and time, so the average gangsta wannabe isn't going to be capable, and the thieves with the tools are going for the Escalades, because they want to make money on the deal.
