Ouch...

I uh... don't think you can claim faulty part. But you could at least go get a price from the dealer. Then you could also check eBay. I doubt it's too difficult to replace it if you can get the part.

Claim that it's faulty

I had my driver's side smashed in by a truck and the passenger's side clipped like yours. Get the parts from mcgeogeparts.com. The whole housing/unit is about $150 and just the clear piece is about $30. You probably won't find these parts on ebay yet and most junkyards don't even know what a tC is.

INSTALL IT YOURSELF!!! Just remove the triangular piece from the inside, take off 3 bolts, unclip the wires, pry off the plastic housing, and a screwdriver for the flashing amber part. Don't pay a dealer $75 to $100 an hour for what you can do in 5 minutes.

I would bring it to a dealership and see what they say needs to be replaced, it looks like the mirror itself is ok, just the clear plastic covering and the black rim around the inside of the mirror.

DO NOT BUY IT FROM THE DEALERSHIP!! They'll charge you over $230. Go to www.mcgeorgeparts.com or www.TRDsparks.com and buy what needs to be replaced and replace it, unless you have to re-run wires it's only a few screws till you're done even if you have to replace the entire mirror. If you said it was a faulty part they would laugh at you.

most junkyards don't even know what a tC is.

Tell me about it. The junk yard I go to has standard pricing. The min i see a tC in there I am getting the wheels and what ever else i see in there. BTW a tire and rim combo from there junk yard is like $20. $80 bucks and I have my racing set up.

It's not difficult to replace a power mirror, I've done it many times in the past for friends and family. I don't know that you can get just the lense part, I think I heard someone say something about they make you buy the whole mirror.

The junkyard here will grab most alloy wheel sets and sell them separately. Especially if they have tires too. Occasionally you might find a set in the yard that they missed, but it's rare. But beyond that, I'm sure you could get a replacement wheel or something cheap. I know the prices at the one near me are really low as well.
