Default Head rest upgrade

I wasn't too happy with the quality of my 5" monitors in the headrest so I decided to upgrade. however finding quality 5 or 5.6" headrest monitors is a pain. Almost everything is 7" or bigger. It was a pain, and I like the look of the smaller monitors.
But it's done and it's not as bad as I thought.

BTW: TC front headrest are smaller and harder to work with the the xB..

What happened to your old headrests?

Edit - And the new ones look very nice.

Ahhh.....Mark, so that's what you've been up to lately. Sometime I'm going to come over and let you install some 7" Screens in my Headrests. I'll bring the cervezas.

thanks guys!!
It's the same (stock) head rest, just replaced my old monitiors with the 7s.
aaron, I'm not sure if you'd want the 5's.. one has alot of dead pixels.
the 7" screens I got thorugh Cadence which is an old sponsor of mine (from my xB). I did use some Ebay 7" (SUPER) monitors in a 4 runner a couple of weeks ago, very impresive, and they went for $125 each shipped.
They had headphone jacks built into the shroud.. very cool for when the wireless headphones run out of batteries..

Thanks again guys, glad you like.
maybe when we do Zeb's he can do a "write up"

it may go something like this:
Open a beer
pull head rest
Drink beer
get a knife
drink more beer
cut headrest
drink another beer
pop in screens
drink some more.
run wires.
drink.. and drink
turn on a movie
finish off the case of beer.

They look cool. I like 'em. Just one question though. When you drive somewhere "questionable" and park, do you have a way to cover/hide them? Or do you just have a sreensaver dispalyed on them that says, "Please break into my car."?

Me and Mark have pretty high tolerances...alcoholics. Yeah, we will definitely do a well documented write up with pics when we do mine. I just gotta find a nice DVD/CD Player combo for the dash for a reasonable price first.

I can't wait.

my car sits in a garage .. I only take it out on the weekends. But yea I do need to do something about the theft deterent issues. I do have a really good alarm, but I was thinking of sewing up some headrest covers.
If I do, I'll make templates..

That's kinda what I was thinking too. A simple cover made from a matching fabric that you can quickly and easily slip over top of them to hide the monitors. Hmmmm...I see marketing potential.

Or we can manufacture LCD Screens with detachable faces. Take the LCD Screen section with you so it's worthless to steal. Or you can lean your seats all the way back and hide them.

hell, why not just make a quick discon on the wires, then lock the headrests in the trunk?
