These look really bright for some reason. Where did you order these from and how much?. I'm actually going to order some tonight, i'm looking through threads now, so I can avoid some of the problems that i'm hearing about them (fogging, not fitting, halo not working when recieved).

Seen a pair on ebay for like $100-125, but it looks like i'm going to probably pay $195 through scionsport.com

Just noticed that the LED's on the left headlight aren't on, but the ones on the right are. Do the LED's blink when the signal lights blink or how do you have them wired?.

Iv heard they are all made by the same company, except the anzo ones. So it will not matter were ya get them. Don't pay to much.

I'm waiting on a deposit, and it won't go through until the hours of 12am-6am tonight, so it looks like i'm going to be ordering them when I wake up! Woo-hoo!

to fix up the fogging issue ..
just drill 3 lil holes on the bottom of the headlight...
it worked like a charm for me.... and we had rain in the past week..no fogging...

try this at your own discretion(sp?)
..it worked for me ....
results may vary

This is not a smart thing to do. The reason why they fog is that they have holes allowing water/moisture to get into them. You must find all of the holes that were drilled for the LED wires and put some sealant over them. I did that before I installed them and they have never fogged up.

I wouldn't pay double or triple what you would pay on e-Bay, even if it is a reputable vendor (I've never ordered from scionsport, so I don't know their reputation). They all come from the same manufacturer (Helix) and they will all potentially have the same problems, no matter how much better it makes you feel to pay more for them. I paid about $115 shipped so even if they crap out on me, I won't feel that bad. They look great for now at least.

black wires get grounded...
the other wire goes to a power source...like the parking light circuit.

THANKS dgHotLava ! !
But were is the parking light circuit??
on the amber bulb...

the plug for it has three wires.
the center one is a ground.
on one side is a trun signal...tap that for the three LED's (makes them a trun indicator too)
on the other side is the parking light. tap that one for the halo rings...

if you got it wrong just switch the two wires...

05-13-2005, 06:34 PM
okie for the wire problem.. you should pig two of the black wires to the third black wire. you're gonna have to strip someof the third wire in the middle then connect the pig tied wires to that, then wrap electrical tape around it. then hook that up to a ground. do the same for the power wires pig tie them, strip, and electrial tape it. then for the power wires you're gonna have to krimp them to the parking light wire, which is you signal light (amber). but you have to make sure you connect it to the parking light wire and not the turn signal wire. i'll look at mine and let you knw the color of the parking light wire.

its not even that hard to take apart the bumper to change the headlights. it only took me 15 mnutes to take apart my bumper and install my lights and put it back together. im pretty sure you can find the halo bulb on line somewhere. squarepants you seem really negative about these halo lights.

just for the record i went to a car show last week, there were 15 boxes only 3 had halos,i ask why you guys don't switch to halos they felt the same way i did,i know it's easy to install but you have to do it all again if you have problems with the light, and for goodness sake don't do like the other guy(not calling any names)who reseal them and later blew a halo and had to take the light apart change the halo and reseal it again.......

The same thing you would do if the stockers went out. Just go to the closest auto parts store or WallyWorld and get a new bulb.

Mine light up the highway just fine and the Hi-beams are GREAT!

These lights look good, but they SUCK! I had them on the car for 4 moths and the driver side one always fogged up. They are not made very well either, cheap materials. I want to get a hold of the manufacturer and try to get my money back. I paid $200 for nothin.

Well I just took them out and will put them for sale soon. If any one wants them, they are the black ones. I'm going back too stock, jsut cleared them and got a front face finisher from orataro.

Has anyone had a problem with the bumper not aligning right because the tab on the stock headlight is not on the projector headlight. The tab is on the bottom of the light and sits on the outside edge and the bumper has a small slot that this tab sits in and holds it in place. If you installed you might know what I'm talking about if not I might try to get a picture or two.

I had the halos installed, and yes the tabs on these are not made right. The bumper won't sit flush with the fender. So I had to cut the tabs shorter to fix this. These lights look good but they suck because you have to do extra work like cutting the tabs, fixing the blinker light socket hole, and probably have to open them up and reseal them better so they don't fog. If your going to buy them, buy them for no more than $100 or get them used.

I bought mine about 5 months ago and paid $250 for them from Assembleweb. They are all made by one manufacturer which I think is Helix, or Helix has them made for them oversees. This just shows that the product is very inconsistent. Lots of people have had fogging issues, some have hadthe halos fall off, other with fitment. This is why most people selling them, especially on ebay, are only giving a 7 day warranty because they know if they gave a standard 90 day or even a 30 day warranty, they would be gettin all kinds of returns. I'm glad you got some that have no issues, because yes, they do look good.

squarepants
05-21-2005, 09:35 PM
could be the cheapy ones that give problems like the fogging, the halo going out has nothing to do with cheap or expensive it's a light which means it will go out soooner or later,my thing is they should make these light simple to work with,if a halo goes out it's a pain in the a** to take the light apart just to change the halo, get ready to do it all again when it goes out later....
