I rotated the tires yesterday and since I had the moons off, I lubed them with white lithium grease. Just sprayed the prongs on the inside lightly. No more creaking or pinging sounds coming from them now. I'll see how long the lube lasts, but should last longer than WD40.

I have the Disks. They do squeek. This is a case where the cure is worse than the desease. I washed and waxed the stock wheels so that brake dust and dirt will slide right off. And I love the look of the shine on the stock wheels as seen through the spokes of my 9-spoke stock hubcaps. I am not yet willing to lube the wheel just to stop the pinging noise when the Racing Disks are installed. Also I wonder if white lithium grease might help them fall off and go flying like a frisby. Do you swap hubcaps or is the Disk the only one you run with? When dirt, crud and brake dust start to accumulate on your wheels, the balance of the tire/wheel assembly is affected.

Nothing like lubing the moons. Rubbing that slick white stuff all over them.

I only run with the moons. I've driven over 500 miles and they're still on the rims. I just lightly sprayed the prongs...didn't soak them or anything.

The sound may stay away never tried to "lube the wheel" Just lived with the noise. Good luck!

Just curbed one of my Moons last night. Scratched the hell out of it. In that instant before it happened, a little voice in my head was screaming, "Dude! Don't parallel park! The curb! The curb!" But the Homer part of me, who was doing the driving, was thinking, "Huh? What?"

Time to order a spare or two.

Have you guys thought about getting the ones that mount with 3 screws? Might save alot of headaches

Well, since I'm not set up to macine three perfectly placed holes, I don't want to risk mounting the disks off center, causing balance/vibration problems.

since you wouldnt hear any noise with the window fully closed.....I will just drive it and leave the moons alone.............

curb rush???...nah no worry.....just wash and wax it then it will be fine.....not prefect but acceptable...IMO

;-)Ummmm, they come with directions and the weight of the screws will hardly make the wheel out of balance.

I wrapped the prongs of my Moons with masking tape. Most of the ticking went away afterwards.

The pinging noise couldn't be heard inside with the windows closed. But, I work on an Army base and have to drive through security checkpoints several times a day. It's those times when I have to stop, unroll the window and show my ID, that I hear the pinging. It was just a little annoying, so I decided to fix it.

The Lithium Grease is made for metal on metal contact and won't wash away like WD-40 could with water contact.
