Default Need your help and advice on my car stereo

Hey everyone. I wanna get a good stereo system for my tC, nothing too crazy. I'm willing to spend 3 to 4 hundred dollars. I want to get one 12" sub woofer (as opposed to two 10") to save some trunk space, and ofcourse an amplifier to supply the power. (later i might change my inside speakers as well)

What amplifier and sub woofer would you suggest? Again i don't want to spend over $200 on my amplifier or subwoofer alone.

I've heard that elemental disigns sub woofers are good because they require less enclosure space. So i may look into that.

Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well, that is a huge question! too huge to answer! byee!

Just kidding, there is a ton of good subs out there. Really most any sub you get these days is going to sound good.. They wouldnt be in business if they didnn't sound good.

So as far as price goes you may want to look into a nice combo package somewhere. Something like what crutchfield has here:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uADiDdG...0&I=700ALP1242

best buy is often giving away a sub and amp combos at a decent price too. As far as elemental designs go, i have no personal experience from there, so i couldnt tell you either way!

Let me know if there is any other questions, building a custom stero setup is fun!! weeeeeeee

Thank you for the quick reply. I know that there are alot of good sub woofers out there. I just don't wanna get ripped off or buy a no name brand which isn't going to sound as good or last as long. When i want to spend 400 bucks, i want to spend it right

lol... thanks again for the reply i looked into the link you posted. i liked what i saw. but i'm gonna wait for more feedback before i buy anything.

One more question. How does the stock subwoofer sound on the tc?

The stock sub doesn't sound good imho. Elemental Designs flat out rocks. Good products, good prices, great customer service. I've personally run three of their subs and 1 of their amps, one of their component systems, and covered 3 cars in their sound deadening. It's all high quality, lasting reliability, top notch product.
Other companies I'd recommend would be Adire, RE, or CDT.
If you'd like, I'm currently selling an elemental designs e12kx, shoot me a pm if you want to discuss it.
