Not that i have tips or tricks. But instead that im asking for some. I know at least a few of you have changed your own oil by now. Since either the free ones are up or you dont care for free time consuming dealership visits (2hrs at desert toyota for me). So I have a case of mobil one 5w-30 and a trd oil filter both happily awaiting a new home. And before i put her up in the air im just curious if theres anything specific to our cars that nobody has mentioned before.

My only specific question is how much goes in?

But anything you could think of would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
james

At 3.9 you can technically just dump in all 4 of your oil bottles. Remember that a bit of it remains inside the bottles when you "empty" them out into the engine, so after all is said and done, using up all 4 bottles will still get you right about 3.9 qts. :)

That makes alot of sense.

your gonna be so happy when you get under neath and see how accessible the oil filter is. Then when you go to take it off your gonna curse toyota more than a 17 year old at jiffy lube!!!(Do any of you know how those oem filters are installed? seems like they use a friggin impact gun- or no lube on the mounting gasket?) hope you got one of those spring loaded filter claws that hook up to a 3/8" ratchet, or the grip of steel.
