Highly considering buying a tC.
My ZX2 S/R got rear ended and totalled, and I need another non-turdbo FWD for work that is still sporty, and the tC looks like the best bet out there. I drove one and liked it a lot except the shifter felt like Play Doh. I know that is easily solved, so it's not an issue. I just have a few questions.
Does the Pioneer deck have any RCA preouts on the back for adding a sub? I figured it may since it is Pioneer and they offer the Bazooka as an option. I already have a nice amp/sub combo I would like to add to the stock stereo.
I plan on keeping the car stock except for performance springs, a short shifter, and maybe an intake. No fart cans and no wheels since the factory ones look great, IMO. I was wondering how the 2.4L handles nitrous. I may want to add a 50 shot down the road just for fun. Are the tranny and engine up to the task?
What does the tC run in the quarter mile in stock manual transmission form? I would guess high 15s by the power and weight. I noticed the car didn't FEEL that fast, but it is very refined for a FWD 4cyl so that is probably why.
Thanks so much for the help, guys. The tC is my favorite of the cars I drove, and I will most likely be here soon saying I am now part of the team.

i'm not sure if the stock pioneer has pre-outs for an external amp, but i think you would be better off just buying an aftermarket h/u.
the day i get my scion, i plan on putting in an aftermarket h/u since I will also be putting a sub and speakers and it will be easier to tune.

The tC will put down 15.7 in the 1/4 all day long bone stock. Some say they have beat that stock, but the timeslips I have actuall seen are around 15.65 - 15.70. That is pretty damn good for a 16k 4 banger. As far as what they can do, I have seen track videos of a 12.5 sec turbo tC, and others are taking them much further.
I like the tranny personally, I may throw in a short shifter sometime, but really dont plan on it untill I build it more seriously down the road. I am not running it on a track at this point, so the stock shifter is fine with me.
I went with the TRD exhaust because it still sounds decent with a CAI and custom midpipe. I dont want it sounding raspy down the road. By itself it sounds nice. Has a deep tone to it.
I just bought my TRD springs and love them. They give it a great look, but more importantly handle very well. The big bonus is that they handle well and still dont make you ____ blood after driving it for long periods
After it is mostly paid off and the warranty is gone, I will most likely go a long ways with it, but for now I want some performance but still nice to drive every day.
And, having the Camry drivetrain gives it reliability points as well. There is one company that is trying to see what the stock internals can handle before breaking. The last I saw they were up to 425 HP, which is pretty impressive. They didnt have track times then because they snapped a shaft on the track.
Anyway, I have enjoyed mine for the last 13.5K. I have been on a few 10 hour drives in it, and loved the way it drove. Enjoy yours if you get it!
