BERLIN (Reuters) - An aggressive squirrel attacked and injured three people in a German town before a 72-year-old pensioner dispatched the rampaging animal with his crutch.

The squirrel first ran into a house in the southern town of Passau, leapt from behind on a 70-year-old woman, and sank its teeth into her hand, a local police spokesman said Thursday.

With the squirrel still hanging from her hand, the woman ran onto the street in panic, where she managed to shake it off.

The animal then entered a building site and jumped on a construction worker, injuring him on the hand and arm, before he managed to fight it off with a measuring pole.

"After that, the squirrel went into the 72-year-old man's garden and massively attacked him on the arms, hand and thigh," the spokesman said. "Then he killed it with his crutch."

The spokesman said experts thought the attack may have been linked to the mating season or because the squirrel was ill.

Midwestern power customers.

Brian Elwood, a spokesman for Xcel Energy, said a squirrel came in

customers Monday. Power was fully restored in just under an hour, and
repair crews found the remains of the "unfortunate squirrel," he said.

By coincidence, another squirrel got into a substation 40 miles away in

Seriously, though, it is something that just "happens." The existing mods
keep their eyes peeled for potential mods based on their activity on the
boards, how helpful they are, how much respect they have with their
peers, and their desire to be a mod. Then we put 'em on a list we keep
handy for when we need another mod. Often what happens is new
SuperMods are promoted from the mod ranks, and new mods come from
the membership as a whole.

Actually the face is prosthetics and make-up, not a costume mask. Nose and chin are light rubber appliances, as are the warts, all held on with spirit gum and blended in with makeup. Makes for a very natural looking, natural moving face.

Same sort of stuff they use in movies and TV programs (learned that back in the days when I was studio cameraman at a TV station).

I have plenty of newt eyes, frog toes, and dog tongues, Johnny, but I am running a bit short on bat wool - my supplier was in south Texas, and the storm destroyed most of their storage, and they also lost a lot of bats... :( They expect to be able to ship before Halloween, though... :)
