Default Scion Seating can be adjusted up and downwise?!

And now, a question worthy of everyone's time.... i've found that the seats in the scion are a little short when it comes to my legs resting comfortably on the seat... i say this because i'm over 6' and, while somewhat minor, the seat is just a little uncomfortable. I think that it would be much more comfortable to block up the seat a little bit int he front (raise the sliders up a few centimeters). I think it would make the seat more comfortable... any suggestions/concerns/comments? Thanks.

i'd actually like to lower mine. i would think to do it right, you would to fabricate new sliders. i wonder if sliders from an echo would work w/ the scion seats?

i'd like to lower it but i also want it pitched back more to make it more bucket-y and less bench-y.

Are echo sliders taller? I guess I do sit up fairly high in the car.. they might work. If you need pics to do a comparison just drop me a line.

Raise the FRONT of the seat cushion?

Agreed 100%

I did this on my Ranger a couple years back, and it was a HUGE improvement....

In the xB, you won't give up any headroom, but you will help avoid putting ALL your weight on your tailbone.

I think it would just take some longer bolts and some thick washers or sturdy tubing used as a spacer between the floor and the seat brackets. I believe the rear seat mounts will simply rotate up if you lift the front.

Let us know.

(Wishing all cars had rake-adjustable or height adjustable seat cushions like our G20t)

okay, results.

today i went over to home depot and dropped 8 dollars on 28 thick, 3/8" washers, 4 3/8" lock nuts, and 4 10mm bolts (im not positive about that, bolts that are the same specs as stock but longer)

i unscrewed the bolts on my sliders, had my brother pull back the seat while i inserted 6 washers under each foot of the sliders, then bolted them on with the locknut and washer using the longer bolt. .... repeated 3 more times.

The difference?! incredible. the seats are unbelievably more comfortable, especially for the tall people whose legs haven't been getting the support they need. The seats no longer feel benchy at all, way more buckety and definately worth the hour it took to go to the hardware store, but the bolts, and install them.

I Highly recommend that you try this out. I was going to spend 500+ on new racing seats just because these stock seats didn't give me support under my legs. Now its not even an option im so happy with my seats

Any pics of the set up? Any concerns with warranty or insurance if you were ever to get into an accident?
