The BBist hood doesn't come with holes pre-drilled unless you ask. On the stock hood, you have to remove part of the "cloth like" heat shield and disconnect the hose from the sprayer.

There's no way I would accept that....I would be filing a claim with the shippers/robear/bbist depending on who is to blame. Of course, determining that is the hard part, but the point is, if spent $1K on parts, they damn well better come in perfect shape. The tc market isn't so small that I can't find another place to spend that kind of money And I can't imagine bbist and robear are in a position that they wouldn't care about losing a customer who spends upward of $1K, especially if it ends up with negative publicity.

The way I look at it, this isn't a "problem" Robear/bbist are looking at per se, it's an oppurtunity for them: they can either push this off as a shipping hazard, and force you to contact the shipper with a claim, or they can take this opp to show what great customer service/loyalty they have and say "we value or customers so much, especially when the spend a G on our products, that we're gonna send you a replacement product, free of charge".

that would be cool but you would you give somebody 500 bucks if it wasnt your fault? i dont think it is bbist or robears and i highly doubt they would ship out a bad product on purpose. the claim office of the shipping comp. said they MIGHT have to send out an rep to see it. i said good time is of the essesence and they also gave me a claim form. at the bottom of the form it said and i quote "we have up to 30 days to respond to a claim, and up to 90 days to act on it". so it could be almost 4 damn months in a worst case scenario.

Actually, having run my own IT consulting business, I've learned very well just how smart doing something like that can be. I ate about $700 of labor fixing something that a customer screwed up. I did it because they were a new customer, and I figured that if I did it for them once, I'd have them as a repeat customer. Not only did they end up spending $10,000 worth of upgrades, they also referred me to three other clients I wouldn't have had any contact with otherwise. In the long term, that $700 I ate was insignificant next to how much business that client generated for me.

Granted, in this case, bbist/robear aren't likely to see $10,000 from you (nothing personal, but I sincerely *hope* you aren't putting $10K into your $17K car But, I can guarentee you that if they were to ship you a new hood/hatch (forgot which was damaged) and pay to have the dmaaged one returned to them, you would promote what awesome customer service they have, and they'd get at least one referral (me).
Ever since the TcTunerz bs, I am highly observant of a vendors PR/customer service proactices. Seeing someone work with a customer to resolve the issue, even if it means eating $500, makes a tremendous impression on me. I see somethign like that, and *I* would be promoting their site, and I haven't even bought anything from them
