how many of you think you will be able to afford the sc?
according to trd, the supercharger should cost around $2699.00, plus whatever it cost to get it installed... now as much as I want this upgrade, I dont know if I'll have that kind of money lying around. I just get upset that it wasnt availible as an upgrade at my time of purchase, because if I could have included it with my financing it would have been great... but now I dont know... I may have to trade my scion in for one with a SC when they come out and eat the upsidedown cost of the financing...
anyone else think that way, or are you all fairly confident you can afford it, or just dont really care?

Thats why I am not too upset that it is taking longer, gives me more time to save up the cash (I definitely dont want to put it on a credit card). But who knows, I may decide I want a turbo instead. But the backing behind it being a TRD accessory is very nice as well. Never know....
yeah that is a little toooo much to come straight out of the pocket, that would be a hard choice, well yeah we will just have to see, i do not think that there will be many sold, that is only my opinion though
correct me if Im wrong, but when the supercharger does come out, isnt scion going to list it as an upgrade acessory on the new car orders, which will be totalled into the cost of the car... not something you are responcible for purchasing seperately... like I said only on new orders, not for existing scion drivers, in the same respect that you can accessorise your car at the time of purchase and it will be totalled in the financing, but if you pass on it, and decide to get something later, its going to come out of pocket...

this is something that you do as a tuner.
this is by no means an option or service that you get done by toyota.
i still don't know if it will work, i will have to pay all this money even if it is a bust and it goes back to stock.
so unless you can throw away 2 G's, i would wait till somebody has proven it is doable.
$2700 isn't that much, however I'm sure the dealer will charge an arm & a leg to have it installed. I'm not too keen on the idea of letting the dealer touch my car, so I'm just going to wait & see how much the SC really costs, how much the intall really costs, and make a decision from there. I can install it myself, though I don't want to mess with the powertrain warranty.

yes the tC S/C is going to be an option...but only at the time of purchace kinda thing.
can't rework the loan to add in the S/C months down the road.
sorry about the wrong thread thing
It would be foolish to buy a tC and then within a year or two trade it in for a s/c model. The $$ you'l lose on your trade in will be just as bad if not worse than what the s/c itself would cost installed.
I just don't get those people who buy a tC and then complain it does not have enough power (you DID all test drive before you bought, right?) and then trade it in for a RSX-S for example. HUGE loss on the trade in unless mommy and daddy are paying.
Be patient and wait. This is exactly what I said 2 months ago in a thread about the s/c....that all these people are _____ing and moaning that it's not out yet but then when it is finally out no one will buy it.
We don't know how much hp it'll put out anyways. If it's a bump to 200-210 hp it's not worth it and damn the friggin warranty. If it's 260 hp or so then it's a serious option.
If having a s/c'd tC was so important why didn't you just wait until they were available?
I agree with those that don't mind the wait and are saving up the $$ during the wait. That's smart.
If you can't afford to buy the s/c without financing it into your loan, maybe you should'nt buy it. Too many people nowadays are in wayyy over their heads in debt becuase of the same situations.

i'm thinking that by the time the supercharger does actually come out i should either def be able to afford it, or by then i won't even own the tc anymore. my problem is that instead of saving money to do a couple of big things i spend all my money doing everything possible. right now i'm trying to get nav/dvd and leather also. instead of buying one or the other, i've been buying stupid stuff for the car just to keep buying things. it's a horrible addiction. not quite as bad as a heroin addiction, but basically i can't control myself anymore. i have to buy something almost every day or at least spend part of my day looking for something to buy. the supercharger is just a pretty big nut to come up with all at once. i'd even consider selling my car and just buying a new one with the supercharger-if i can get the price i want for my car.
At least you admit a problem that alot of car owners have...especially those who mod...an addiction to buying more and more.
I mean c'mon...rims that cost $2000...body kits for $1200...hey if you can actually afford these things without getting into debt, go for it! By I assume that 80% of us can't really afford these things.
Dude, your leather seats and nav (both of which really don't matter much) will equal the cost of the s/c. Please wait!
