Shady Toyota Serivce guy
Today I dropped off my car @ noon to get rust and paint protection put on my car (i assume this is an additional clear coat and something similar for the underbody) as well as an alignment, fix one of the cupholder LED's, and some scratches my dad put in my car. Anyways, I asked the service guy to drop my TRD axle-back exhaust b/c I didnt want whatever they were going to do to ruin the finish, he said no problem. They gave me a loaner corolla S and told me they'd call me late afternoon when its done.
So the whole day goes by with no call, they close at 7, so at 6:40 my friend and I head over there. The same guy tells me its not done b/c when they attempted to remove the exhaust they tore a rubber hanging bracket & they have to order a new one, it will be done tommorow...OK, so at this point I'm a little worried. Im not a car guy by any means but my friend works at a lexus dealer and is toyota certafied he looks at me like WTF. Just last weekend we took that exhaust halfway off no problem to fit the sway bar in there. So we decided to go inspect my car, we both get down on the ground and see that it doesnt look touched, exhaust still firmly in place with all rubber brackets...
I didnt bother me at all that the car wasn't done I didnt expect it to be done same day with all that work, the fact that it seems like he flat out lied doesn't sit too well.

I heard about the paint issue on the car and while my dad and I were signing the papers the guy sold us on both rust and paint protection b/c for $900 it covers all road hazards(rocks, acid rain, tree sap, etc) and is good for 10yrs 100,000 b/c we extended the warranty as well. so if i get even one rock chip i can bring in my car and say paint it.
*edit nm the invoice says $680

Get your car out of there asap. If they haven't touched it yet, so much the better... I've looked under my xB and it seems like it has a fairly thick, rubberized spray over most of the underbody. Where that isn't, they have at least sprayed the edges/seams of the sheetmetal. Get a clearbra, and your paint is set...
I wouldn't let a shop touch my car ever again after hearing and seeing what you did.
That paint deal seems too good to be true, but I'm a cynic.. I'd read the fine print.
