Default Value of the xb in 10 years

Hey everyone, just wondering what you guys think the value of this car will be in, maybe, 10 years. I searched google for some sort of KBB website but couldn't find anything. Reason i ask is that ten years from new i'll be a college graduate, and i'll most likely be looking to upgrade the car (unless they become some sort of classic vehicle) etc. Thanks in advance

4k in 10 years is not as bad as i thought. That would put it around 10k, stock. I figure since its production ends at 2006 it may actually not go down as much, plus I do not put many miles on it, and other factors may also contribute. I figure I'd be buying my first car around then, at 24ish, even though ten years fomr now would put me at a solid 26.. still pretty young.. i suppose I just hope with that the end of production at 2006 it will result in more popularity (end of production usually results in people becoming more interested), for if it stays at this level I fear its trade-in value will be quite low. I hope I could get a square 10k for it in the next 8 years or so, I already ahve heard stories of people getting 13 for theirs trading it in only after 2 years, and in some cases, 1.

When you keep a car for 10+ years, IMO, the resale value isn't going to be an issue.. Especially with an economy car, 10 years later, you've gotten your money's worth..

i'm pretty sure the estimate made above means it will $4k to buy one in ten years, not go down $4k.

In 10 years I don't see my car be worth more than a grande. How many cars out there that are 10+ years old are really selling for much more than a grande? Not many that I can think of. Trade in value I would expect to get $100 bucks.

Good, MD people know what they're talking about. I agree completely with the above poster - I'd be shocked if it were over a grand - especially when it's an economy car.

Just to give you an idea - my '94 Corolla is worth less than $2300 (to a private seller ONLY, no way I'd get that much unless I tried really hard) and it was a fully loaded car that sold for > $16,000 when it was brand new - the xB goes for less than that now...

I would agree, you'd be lucky to get $2000 for the box then.

Though, if they do kill the xB in 2007 and roll out a Gen 2,
it might actually go up in value to modders looking for
"the older body style". But that's it.

Not true my friend just picked up a 93 honda bubble back, 1 owner, mint car. He paid a little over 4000, and that car is 12 years old. I think it depends on how the car is kept and how many owners it has had threw the years. If I keep my TC for ten years and it is kept it in good shape I think I could get 4000 for it maybe more. You are right with most 10 year old cars go for 1g or less.

It would also depend on if the vehicle has low miles and what kinda condition it's in.

Ok I was exagerating on the $100 a bit but not on selling a car around here 10yrs old. I went to trade in my Saturn 2 door. Its in good shape except the the tires are a little worn and they offered me $500 for it. I was like umm Ill keep it for that and use it as my beater car. Hell it would cost me almost that much to get 4 new tires.

I don't think the xB can achieve such high resale value as older honda civics(88-00).

Those cars have a better following and as a result, a higher demand than what the xb has.

In 10 years, I'd estimate anywhere from 2000-5000.

At $4,000 it also depends on how big a dope you are. Hondas and Toyotas are good cars but I would not pay more than $2,000 for 10 year old or older car that wasn't a classic. But that's just how I feel. Some people don't mind paying more for cars. But again, Hondas and Toyotas have that cult following thing going on so...
You still wouldn't see me pay $4,000 for a car that old.
