Default Which is faster to accelerate onto a highway?

Is it the Scion xA Automatic or is it the Sentra 5-speed?

The Scoion is rated at 108hp (not 105 as stated in the link). The math shows them nearly even with the Xa with a very slight advantage. I would guess even unless you take the driver into account.... I'm sure I out accelerate EVERY sentra driver on an on-ramp.... Remember the Scion engine makes that 108hp at 6000rpm so you had better not be affraid to use that long skinny pedal on the right or you won't get anywhere very quickly...

Another way to look at it is who has an extra person in the car or a bunch of junk in the trunk....=the looser...

I know this is my first post but I have been looking through the site for quite sometime and am purchasing a scion (not sure which one). I dont think a xa can out-accelerate any nissan sentra. Nissans are very torquey and the gxe has 108lbs of torque@4000rpm and 115hp@6000. dont get me wrong I love the scions but I dont think they're fast

Default don't believe the hype

you'd be surprised... Especially once they are broken in, they get very comfy on turns and even uphill...

At least let the scion have a manual. Both arent racecars, but it would be closer with a stick....i think the auto would lose. I have no proff of this, just gussing.

*** I just read the the rest of the post on vortex....if its for your sister and manual is not an option.....just have her pick the one she thinks is the best looking because they are almost the same.

I have an automatic Xa, you would be surprised at how quick it really is. It depends on how hard you are willing to run it. Mine sees redline many times a day!! Don't be afraid to use that long skinny pedal on the right.
