scion security
does all xBs come wid tha scion security light on their dash??...shouldnt all of them have em 4 tha keyless entry??...cuz 4 sum reason i dont have dat scion security light
The light is not on the dash, it is mounted in the switch panel next to the cigarette lighter when you purchase the security system. It wouldn't serve any purpose with keyless entry.
Could you please try to type a bit clearer? When you say things like "dat" and "sum" it makes people not want to answer your questions.

I had to think and remember when I was a teen: about the best underground cartoonist was Vaughn Bode (bo-dee) His principle character was named Cheech Wizard.
MikkoxB has somehow shown himself to be Cheech Wizard reincarnated. He talks just like Cheech.
Today's artists recall Bode. This is a tribute to Bode (d. 1975) found by Google Imagesearch.
keep the lingo, michael.
crew: let the dif'rent fuzzball cruise along here in peace, right? i see your points but let him be a teen spirit of his own style, esp as his postings are all short and to a point very clearly made.

it protects your car from potential theft by sounding your horn and blinking your headlights/taillights when the alarm is triggered. it also supposedly goes off when someone or something taps or knocks on the window. other options but i forgot.
not up to speed on that scion security option myself but I seem to recall it is costly and was a bit bugged (early on anyway)
could be just as well done by aftermarket security, I recall.
enough. I need to read up that thread above!
BTW: Do any of you know of ANY stolen xB's? My insurance co (progressive) does not rate the xB as any kind of theif-magnet.
Having a stock car with no goodies inside I don't feel need for security alarm
Having a yellow car with yellow wheels and other rare features makes it sort of stand-out in traffic.
I do not expect that many yellow boxes or lava boxes, esp. would get -stolen-
just gotta protect your -gear- subs and stuf. Have none of that meself

Well, I decided to buy the Scion security when I bought the car. Since the dealer did'nt have the system in stock, I had to bring the car back five days after my purchase. What was supposed to be a routine alarm istallation, took them 6 business days to install. The gave me a loaner for the week they had my car but c'mon, a week to install an alarm? They had all kinds of electrical problems and bad connectors and could not figure out how to get the damn thinh to work. They ended up calling a technician in Japan who diagnosed it over the phone.
Anyway, they ultimately ended up putting two very small scatches in my dash. When I went to pick up my car, I went ballistic. They offered to replace the little plastic piece of dash they scratched but said they would need my car for the day. I said, after having my car for over a week, I said forget it. I went home and found that if I armor-all the piece, the scratches dissapear. The dealer called me back the next day and asked how the can make it up to me. I said a free AEM cold-air intake instaaled would make me feel better. They put that in last Saturday (while I waited).
My opinion...about the alarm.....go aftermarket!!!!

But as far as the alarm goes, the only special feature that the Scion alarm may have over a third party system is next to the Scion Security LED, is a high pitch sound sensor. This sensor detects glass breakage.
Now for the things that could be better. I don’t like the fact that you have to manually lock all the doors once the car is started. With my other cars, the alarm system will lock the doors automatically. I also don’t believe that the Scion Alarm has a motion sensor or if it does, it’s not very sensitive. I like to know when someone bumps into my car. I got a copy of the Xb alarm system installation manual from another ScionLife user because I didn’t think they adjust my sensitivity correctly and the manual did show me where the alarm is installed and how to adjust the sensitivity. I also realize that the dealer was suppose to place a Scion Security Sticker on the vehicle but didn’t according to the installation manual.
