Default Who switched from the Ford FOKUS to a Scion?

I've noticed in numerous threads that people have switched from a Ford Focus to a Scion and I'am just curious to see who has. I switched from a Focus ZX3 that I had for 5 years and I couldn't be happier. I never really had "LOVE" for my FUKUS but with the xB it's a whole nother story.

Cuious about why you guys quit the Focus. I've never ridden in one. I like the back end of the Focus, style wise. The lamps are very cooly placed.

I like the Scion's front end styling more than any other car on the road today. Am betting we all agree that Scion xB looks great, head- on and from three quarter view. The Focus looks best going.

i never really liked the back end... but it doesnt look too bad from the front or side profile.

you know why i sold my sisters red ford focus sedan for, cause it suckeddddd. i'll give you the reasons

the back right door wouldn't open
oil was leaking
the key would get stuck in the ignition on cold days
the car would spontaneously lock on me
it would stall unexpectedly in important places when i needed anything but a stall
I ALMOST DIED WHEN IT STALLED ON A HILL (and it isn't my fault, its an auto)

and these problems were at 34,000 miles!!!
Imagine what else could have happened

I had one; granted, I've had two cars since.

Hopefully I'll be picking up an xB within a week or so. I supposed it's about time; I've been on this site since 2003.

I also am a recovered Focus owner and couldn't be happier. The Focus was the biggest pile of dookie i've ever owned. The trans blew at 3000 miles and it always leaked all kinds of fluids. The greatest day i ever had with this car was the day i passed it in my new box on the way of the Toyota lot. Thanks god its gone

I still own my Focus because my wife couldn't see in the car very well (Blind Spots) so I just bought her an xA. I plan on getting rid of the Focus in a few months and I'm getting an xB.

Reason why I hate my Focus:
Standard American Car interior... AKA Boring.
Lags when slamming the pedal to the floot (Auto)
But the biggest problem I have on this car was - A faulty part Ford placed in its very early model 4Cyl. that built up carbon on the inside of the engine (So says the dealership). This caused the car to stall, sputter and when sitting in neutral I would I have to keep the RPM's up. So I take it to the Ford Dealership and they say "Oh yeah that was a problem on some of the early models it will cost 2k to fix, and this is not covered by Warrenty as its considered an UPGRADE part."
So of course I fought, but still upgrade part... I had them put a "temp" part in for 150 and its lasted for about a year now with hardly any problems.
But Ford and the Focus both are big piles of crap, I will never buy from Ford again... I can't wait to get my xB, but my wifes xA is pretty sweet.

Sometimes I wish that I bought an SVT Focus instead of an xB.

Although I got an xA and not an xB, I have traded my Focus for the Scion. Mostly because I wanted something new and fresh, but I also wanted something that stands out and says "drive me" and that was a bit smaller than my Focus. I still drive my 2000 Focus ZTS until the xA RS2 comes in and that should be any day now.

Here is my Focus:

I went from a Focus to a Protege5 to my tC.

Was a fun car and I got a super lease deal on it way back in 2000 when they launched!

I had a 2000 Ford Out Of Focus. Then got my nB. Then got my xA for that. SO, in a way, I got a SCION after I had a Focus.

How come the title of my thread got changed from FUKUS to FOKUS? I see much more profane things than that on these threads. It is spelled nothing like the real word. FUKUS is what Ford did to me when I bought that piece of crap. More recalls than I can count, A/C would turn off completely for days on end, interior lights would not come (dash included), and numerous other problems. Who changed the title of my thread? Now if you read the thread title it looks like i'm an idiot and don't know how to spell FOCUS after owning the piece of s#*t for 5 long years....

You described a Nasser era product launch from Ford. He tried to ruin that company and came very close to it. My 2000 focus only had 3 joke recalls and never gave me any trouble at all. I liked my Focus!
