so peugeot released the 206, which quickly became the top-selling small car in europe. last yr, they also released the 206cc, a convertible version.

this yr, volkswagen introduced a convertible version of its beetle.

next yr, a convertible mini cooper.

also up and available, a convertible chrylser pt cruiser.

so what i'm wondering is: does anyone know if there will be a scion xA convertible under consideration any time soon? would the demand be there? would you guys be interested in getting a soft-top xA?

Unfortunately it's a very strong "NOT" gonna happen. Same reasoning for the XA NOT having the option of a factory sunroof. The XA is a price-point car and to add those options - sunroof or convertible - would completely change the dynamics, marketing and intention of the SCION brand; of that, being hightly affordable.

All I WANT is a sunroof!

forget the sunroof, what about a rag top like the old style Mini's ???

I was so close to going old school mini and getting it with an MR2 transplant ($18,500 for the whole package in so-cal) w/ no rear seat (engine in the back...)

I highly doubt it'll happen. I wouldn't mind a sun/moon roof, but a convertible xA would be nonsense. I'd rather have an OpenDeck bB...

yah moonroof! or dual moonroof like in the tC! ... no ragtop tho, that'd look silly.

:o Oh I would soooo love a convertible...but I might have to agree that I doubt Scion would come out with one because of the affordability of the xA as is.

an xa convertible might be on the ugly side... that mini is hella ugly as a convertible... its good the way it is.. fo sho a sun roof, but no convertible.... dual sunroofs would be nice :D any idea on the cost of doing something like that?

i don't think the xA will not look good as a convertible. sunroof would be great though.

I never said anything about looking good... it was just an idea.. in all seriousness, it would probably either way a ton or destroy some serious rigidity in the car...
