paul natividad , I dont know if he's on the board tho. and yeah alot of people are gonna talk cuz it's a multi thousand dollar thing. not like it's easy and cheap. and alot of people will it is still very early in the game everyone. these cars have only been in the us market since summer of 03.

That Paul guy is on the Scion commerial! I hella wanna be like him. How do you get to be in a commercial? Ive honored Scion by spending 10K to make my car good looking. They need to honor me by letting me get in that commercial. Id even be willing to do the motor swap to get on TV

We spoke to Christian Rado at SEMA IAS. He told us that he and his company (world-racing) are working close with Scion to develop swap kits for the xa/xb that will use the tC motor. It sounded like wishful thinking and big dreams to me, but we will have to wait and see.

Isn't the next gen of the box supposed to have the tC motor
in it already? Mebby just wait a bit?

try 140 hp... and with a sentra that weighs around 2500lbs.. which is around the same as the box or the xa.. i dont know.. im a tc guy, thats plenty of power... b13s(91-94 se-r) ran 15s stock... its a great motor.. and the redline was at 7500 with cutoff at 7800.. i know.. i used to have a nissan nx2000.. which had the same motor.. fun as hell.. hahaha and turbo srs pushed anywhere from 200-230.. im not quite sure though

Not an engine freak, but is the engine on an 87 Celica GT hatchback too big for minimal cutting to swap?

hotbox05
06-12-2005, 05:34 AM
lol those older celie motors are quite large bro. and ancient motors without much power.

The whole engine swap thing has been talked about a good deal before. Yes a engine swap has been done. A company in the UK put the Celica GT-S 1.8L VVTL-i engine into a Echo hatch. So yes it can be done. There where pics around on the net, but I think only a few ppl still have them now.

i wouldnt do a 1zz because it is not a good powerplant to upgrade from, a 2zz is way to expensive. 3sg-te is too large and would require tube framing, the most reasonable choice is the 4ag-ze with the fwd transmission. its cheap and small enough to fit in with only minimal subframe cutting and reinforcing

how isnt 1zz good to upgrade from? with a trd s/c u get 162 whp. add header , full exhaust , re-ground cams , cam con. and man it'll frickin fly.

I think the 2AZ-FE suits the tC very well. With the money you do on a swap you can get a turbo but i see where your coming from if you want that N/A power. This is going to get flamed to hell but.... why not a K20A3? Good power and many N/A mods out there. Ive seen B-series engines with 300+hp N/A and i know its hard for us toyota people to admit but honda makes some kick ___ N/A engines.
