There is a tech article in the archives showing you how to take apart the rear tails to candy them. Check it out.

Is it really computer stupid or lazy?

If you look at the top of this forum there is a :FEATURES" menu, with "TECH" under that. You'll find many interesting articles there.

Be VERY careful doing this.

I cracked one of my stock lenses trying to open it with this same write-up...

Good luck. What do you plan to do?

With lots of love!! or you will break the lens. This happened to me on the first try. The second try worked well. Start with the top tab, use one screw driver to pull the grav part away from the tab, then use another to put into the tab hole and push the lens upward. When you get this done put a folded piece of paper inbetween the gray housing and lens to keep it open. Then start at the top-outside corner (if your tail were on this would be the side closer to your back tire or side of tails that don't have tabs) and start to open with your hands, this part opens easy. Once done, use the screwdrivers, CAREFULLY! to open up the other tabs. If you screw up you can always by another set for cheap on ebay for about $30.
