Default help installing sirius antenna

Hey I am trying to install my P.N.P. Sirius car antenna on the xB. Right now I don't know how I am going to get the wire from outside the car to inside without going over the rubber seal. Some of my older cars had rubber seals that were easy to remove but it seems the seals in the rear hatch of the xB are really tight. I saw this one place online that recommended removing a section of the seal, filing down a grove to feed the wire through then reattaching the seal. Should I try to do this or is the seal glued on or something? Another option I thought of is that if there is a hole somewhere in the rear light assembly that would work better? I tried unscrewing this rubber thing that looked like it was holding in the light but it wouldn’t budge. :? What do you recommend?
Once I get the wire in the car, I am going to tuck it behind the plastic trim panels and feed it up to the front passenger seat. Since I am putting the receiver on the little shelf under the airbag, I am going to drill a hole in that little cup thingy and feed the wires up from there. For now the power cord will just go from the lighter, down and under the dash, and up through the hole. I would love to hard wire it into the car but need some detailed explanation on how to do that.

So basically what do you all recommend for getting the wire in the car? And if anyone knows how to hardwire something like a satellite receiver into the power of the car, please share it with everyone in detail.

Thanks!!

yea remove part of the seal and file a groove that is a super tight fit for the wire then slap the seal back in place, if you need to you can use some silicone sealer to tighten everything up

you can actually just pull the seal and leave enough slack for the antenna wire to wrap around under the seal...I did this a month ago and have had no problems with leaking

Yeah, what they said. If you file a groove just make sure to touch up the bare metal with paint. And use a little silicone to keep it water tight. Have you asked or looked how the factory/port does it? Just copy what they did. Good luck and enjoy your music.
