How does the auto shifter knob or handle come off. I've taken the screw out but it seems like there is something else holding it from comming off. I stopped and put it back together cause I didn't want to break something in the process. :doh:

did you take BOTH scews out?

yep ,, it still didnt want to come off it felt loose but still held on by something.. is there something else I need to do.??

it is the OD button there should be enough slack to pull up and you will need to remove the trim piece around the OD button to disconect it to fully remove the shifter.

yeah you gotta pull up on it hard but be sure the od button is on b4 you cut the wires and then what i did was tape the bare wires then poked them back in the hole so they dont show later. I had to take my stock shifter knob off cuz my long leggs kept hitting the dang OD button off it drove me crazy in the beginning so i sought out to find a nice button knob and i found it at Discount Auto parts.
