ROSTRA Cruise Control, Any Tips? xB
Has anyone installed the Rostra cruise control electronic kit for the xB? I just got this off eBay and would like to hear any installing input you may have before I start my installation.
Thanks for any tips you may have

I didn't install mine but watched as it was installed in my driveway. It looked pretty straightforward to me but the installer really did follow the instructions closely as it was his first one on the xb. The instructions were pretty complete as far as I could tell. He did use a long piece of nylon like a giant tie wrap that he used to snake wires through the firewall and under the dash. You better be pretty flexible as he was in some weird positions working under there!!!
I really do like mine. Have used it on numerous trips and it makes long drives a lot more pleasant.

I installed mine a few months ago, it took about 3hrs and works great! Just read and follow the instructions. The only tip I can give, is to get an "add-a-circuit" from AutoZone, Pep Boy, etc. for the power wire. Just put the "add-a-circuit" in an unused spot on the fuse block. That's much easier than trying to tap into a wire that you can't hardly find. lol
Not about installation, but...
The only thing I don't like about the Rostra compaired to a factory cruise on my Accord is:
It takes a long time to engage. You get to your throttle speed, set the cruise, release the throttle, it instantly drops like at least 5 mph before it kicks in. A little bit of a pain if you want to go on and off of it alot.

Thanks all... I plan on trying to get this installed tomorrow. It does seem like the switch is placed in an odd place though... seems like if the switch is placed below the headlight switch a tall persons knee might get in contact with it? Has anyone installed the cruise switch different from the instrucions?

Mine was installed toward the back of the steering wheel shroud and above the center break (of the shroud). This keeps it away from my knees and is still in my line of sight from the normal driving position. Works fine for me.

Don't tighten the cable bracket all the way untill the free play is close.
Put the control higher on the column. I put mine in view. Kinda @ 10:00.
Check for full throttle when finished with two people. I bent the long cable keeper out of the way. It binds the cable @ full throttle.
Minor stuff.

I placed pics there that show my installation. I'm 6'7", so the placement of the stalk was important. I've liked where it is located.
I've got the cruise installed and it worked perfect first try. The most time consuming part for me was fishing around with where the best place would be to install the control switch arm!
