Yeah, the community is still pretty much dead. Anytime someone new joins they make their one post, a few people comment, and then it's all quiet until someone else new comes along.

The wife and I keep our cars for about ten years. We also stagger the purchases - she's driving a '99 Passat right now. She loves her car (I like it, too), but I suspect she's growing attached to the xB .

Until gas runs out...which, if the SUVS don't get sopped, should be around 2010...

Right?

Honestly? I'd like to keep it for ten years..if it proves to be as reliable as I hope. Otherwise, probably closer to seven. But mark my words; barring a spectacular smash-up, or my demise, I will be behind the wheel of the Japanese Wonder Wagon when the 2010's begin!

At least 200,000, and at 10,000/yr, that will be at least 20 years. It may take that long for me to get my list of mods completed. Love the xB.

I don't see these lasting for too long, mostly because of the cheap paint and light steel.

Probably dump it next year.

until the payments are done and I get the title... Then the RS 1.0 goes in the garage and i Drive whatever the next box (Scion)may be at that time..

Hell.. if that t2b were to be released next year.. the RS would be in the garage..... but i'll drive it until the payments are done....

I plan on keeping my RS 1.0 for a very long time. You never know...it might become a classic one day!

tired of people saying cheap paint, the paint is not cheap, the aerodynamics of the car dont allow rocks and such to flow over the car properly so the paint gets attacked much more than other cars, my step dad is a gm at a toyota dealer, all the paints go through the same process

the ideas when I bought my Scion were to use it as a daily driver, light show car until I paid my Beetle off and then buy myself that little BMW I've been eyeing and convert my Scion to a show beauty! roll on Scion roll on

I am speculating this could be the last gasoline powered car that I'll ever buy. PEAK OIL>
