I have the injen S.R.I and it was well worth the money. I don't know anything about the K&N though, so don't really on me.

The Injen SRI for the xA is different than for the xB...

Also, if you're going to be showing your car, the CAIs look better for that...

I'll be installing an INJEN SR in my xA when I get it.

xB:

xA:

Injen CAI:

The Injen SRI for the xA is just the CAI without the secondary pipe which leaves the filter in a less than optimal place, IMO.

hey for an xA i'd get the k&n cuz it stick the filter in the bumper area but is alot smoother of a path as well as a shorter path for the air in comparison to the dealership aem.

Mark,

I still have the dyno day on my list of things to do. Unfortunately, uncle sam threw some more missions my way, and I have to plan around that now.

hey, I was also interested in the K&N CAI for the xA. However my only concern is how low does it actually hang above the ground? I'm hoping it's not too low. Does anyone know? The K&N CAI doesn't allow for a bypass valve to be installed so it's a concern for me. Thanks

I was going to run the heat shield on the half of the filter that faces the exhaust mainfold. But then again, I could get the CAI and see if running it full or SR makes any difference. I just don't like having all of those bends. Right now I'm partial to INJEN.

oh yeah we know you like injen squirrel , but...... theyre design for the xa just plain sucks , lol. sorry dude i'm not doggin u or injen just saying what i think. the k& n xa intakle puts the filter outside of the hot engine compartment and doesnt take very many bends to get there.

also the design of the K&N is much better as far as flow but to my understanding other intakes have placed the tube nipple incorectly on the intakes and K&N is the only one that has placed it correctly so all in all i think that K&N would be the best choice......so far

I think they all get the same results pretty much. Go with the cheapest or the color you want.

Like emiller states, get the one that you like the best. Its a difference of 1 maybe 2 hp at best. Plus, with all of the added weight from other mods, it all gets cancelled out anyway.

The K&N hangs to the middle of the wheel well. It comes with a vapor barrier. I have had mine for about 8K miles and have had no problems with moisture. I have driven through some crazy snow storms and through Oregons rain storms.

what other mods would put weight on performance wise?
and i dont know about you but to me 2hp is 2 more that i would like to have in a car as light as oursi mean the power to weight ratio is what its all about and 2 wheel hp is worth it to me and any how K&N is cheaper than most others including AEM & INJEN

Suspension upgrades, all the braces, bars, etc. some people's wheels, ICE, lights, overlays, vinyl, tint... hehe Ok, maybe some of that won't add much but put together, some of this stuff can. I like the Progress sway bar because it's thicker, but it was also a fairly heavy piece of steel.

I need a CF hood for the weight savings - to offset the weight of all the other CF I've stuck on my Box...

what about the weapon-r intakes?

personally, i'll get every bit of power i can get on my xA. i've read posts on muscle car forums in which people crap on bolt on mods. they say that those mods don't do anything. it's not that they don't; it's that they don't matter for all cars. two hp on a 2.8L Z is VERY little. 2hp on a 1.5L xA econobox means a lot more, like being able to handle a higher powered amp.

the thing that gets me about the projected gains is that it's always way in the upper rpm :/
