Default Armrest for xB from Toyota - just installed!

I just received my new center armrest from newscionparts.com and installed it in my xB. It was a very easy install, and I think it looks good. It could stand to be an inch or two taller, but otherwise not bad. Hope my picture links work!

Looks good, you can get those for the xA too right?

The cloth is a perfect match, as is the plastic. It also fits the xA. Very easy install - all you need is a screwdriver.

Can you lean on it or will it break too easy...

finally, a "real" cup holder for the rear!

i used to get so freaked out when my friends put a super huge big gulp in the old one...

It's pretty solid. There is a metal brace that hooks under the seat tracks - makes a firm mount. It is nice to have a "real" cup holder actually shaped like a cup: round!

I insatlled the same armrest in my wife's xB on Monday. I really like it. It matches perfectlty and (in my opinion) is even more stable than the much more expensive Boomerang armrest I have in my xA.
Exbeelover, let me ask you a question....when you installed yours, did you loosen the screw from the rear of your center console like the instructions told you? I did, but then I couldn't figure out why it had me do that. I could have easily installed it without loosening that screw. I got the retaining wire in place without having to shift the console around at all. Oh well, it's in and it's solid. I like it alot.

You're right - I wondered why they said to loosen the console. It really didn't serve any purpose! But like you said, it's very stable, more so than the original console.

i only wish there was a little more weight/girth to the armrest or a tactile click at the top. when you flip it up, it feels cheap and light.

but i wont complain, paid $21 for it shipped with the gift card...

I prefer the rectangular rear cup holder. I bought a BK breakfast orange juice (rectangular shape) awhile back. Won't even fit in the front cup holders. However it fits perfectly with wiggle room in the stock rear cupholder.

I cant find the xB arm rests on newscionparts.com. Which section is it in? I tried a search, but I only got results on an xA armrest. Anyone know?

I love my armrest.. I can lean on it and it does not flinch.
I took it out and tried it in my wifes xA .. it drops right in.
I just had to fight her back for it..

I have one now, too. It's too low for my taste. The fabric is like, rough and unpleasant on skin. (Could be covered in something nice, easy enough.

Otherwise- yes to all of the above.

Anyone local want mine? I don't think I'll bother with installing it? Miami

Is it easy to pop out if you need to? Sometimes I carry a bunch of stuff and need to be able to stick stuff between the front seats.
