Default Stock tweets are 13 ohms ?!

I am ready to swap out my stock tweeters and notice they are 13 ohms... If this is wired in parallel with the front door speakers, that makes this combo 3.05 ohms...

When I put my new 4ohm speaker in there it will now become 2ohms. Does anyone know if this will cause any problem with the stock HU?

You are swapping out your speakers but not using a crossover on them?

When you hook the HU up to the new x-over...then x-over to your 4 ohm comp set, it'll work fine.

DC resistance and AC impedance are not the same thing...

Yeah, more info on the speaker being used might help.

And honestly, if it's a true tweeter, higher frequencies effect
the overall impedance MUCH less then lower frequencies.

No crossover; I have 6.5in. two way in the doors. I want to put a 4in. two way with 600hz bass blocker where the stock tweets sit now. The 4in. set sits so perfectly in that spot.

I just swapped out all my speakers in my xb, 4" Pioneers, 2 way, in the dash. 6.5" Pioneer 2 way in the front doors. 5.25" Sony 3 way in the rear (they were free so why the change in brand).
I have not installed bass blockers and a couple of knowledgable folks listened and said not to as they wern't needed.
All of this with the stock HU.
I would say try it first with no blockers and go from there. The dash units are super easy to get to and make changes if you decide later that you have to have them.

so then how are the factory speakers wired? if not a crossover? just in parallel? so any of us who just replace the woofer part, are going to have to use a crossover? otherwise we run the risk of burning out the amp in the stock headunit?

The FACTORY tweeters are wired in parallel with the front door speakers. Here are the wiring diagrams for the xB and the tC:

tC:

Hope that helps...
